Luciana's Newborn Session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

Erika and Brad are the sweetest family, and I loved photographing their newborn session. Their new baby, Luciana, has so much hair that I joked it looked like a wig! Her big sister, Addy, wasn’t too interested in the session, but we still managed to capture some really sweet moments of them together. Even though this was a quick session, we got some beautiful images of their little family. Newborn sessions are always special, but there’s something extra sweet about capturing those early days with a new baby. Luciana was so peaceful, and her tiny features were just perfect. We kept things simple and focused on natural, loving moments. Here are some of our favorite photos from the session!

T.H. Peterson: How did you come up with her name?

Erika: We wanted a unique and sweet name and came up with Luciana or “Lucy” for short. It also means “light” or “light in the darkness" and it serves as a reminder of God's presence and faithfulness even amid difficult times.

T.H. P.: What did you think when you first saw her?

Erika: When we first saw her, we saw her sister Addy, they look like twins. Although, Lucy has more hair than any of us expected!

T.H. P.: What does big sis think?

Erika: Big sister hasn’t quite warmed up to her yet, she will acknowledge her At least for now. We know they’ll be best buddies though!

T.H. P.: Something you liked about your session with us?

Erika: The session was easy going, no stress and we just all went with the flow. Especially with a toddler and newborn, you never know how these things may go.

T.H. P.: Favorite time of the day with her?

Erika: Her wake windows are our favorite time, she’s a very laid back baby and just likes to lay around and watch our ceiling fan.
