Interview with Hunter Kirkwood - Washburn Rural Class of 2026 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Image
It was such a great morning photographing Hunter for his senior session at the lake. When we arrived, we were surprised at how empty the park was. It made the whole session feel peaceful and relaxed, and it gave us plenty of space to capture some great photos. The morning started off cloudy and a little dreary, but by the end of the session the sun began to come out, giving us some beautiful light to finish with. The whole setting felt calm, comfortable, and just really enjoyable. One thing that stood out right away about Hunter was how easy he was to talk to. He has a great personality and made the session feel very natural. We had some great conversations while walking around the lake and finding different spots for photos. Hunter is a genuinely nice guy, and it was a pleasure getting to know him a bit during his session. He has a realistic but optimistic outlook on life, and I truly believe he has a very promising future ahead of him. T.H. P.: What are your plans after high school...

Ethan's newborn session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

Image
Ethan was such a joy to photograph during his newborn session! He is a beautiful, mellow little guy with big, sweet eyes and the most precious expressions. He made our job so easy with how chill and happy he was throughout the session. His big sister was just as adorable, and we had so much fun capturing the two of them together with some really cute sibling moments. It was truly a family affair, and we were able to get some wonderful pictures of the whole family together. Ethan was an absolute dream to work with, and we are so thankful for the opportunity to capture these memories. We just love how the photos turned out and can’t wait for the family to enjoy them for years to come. T.H.P.: What did you think when you first saw Ethan? Crystal: Our family is complete and my heart filled with love even more than I knew it could. T.H.P.:   How did you come up with his name? Crystal:   We wanted to keep the alphabet theme going (I'm a teacher), so it was time for an "E...

Kyren's newborn session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

Image
Kyren was truly one of the most chill babies we’ve ever photographed. From the moment he came in, he was calm, sweet, and just went with the flow. He has so much hair and gave us the cutest little expressions throughout the session. Honestly, he made our job so easy. He let us move him, pose him, and try different setups without a fuss. Sessions like that are such a gift, and we were able to capture some really beautiful images of him. This was also one of the sessions where our new assistants were getting some hands-on practice, and they had the best time working with Kyren. He was like the perfect little model for them to learn with. Everything just flowed, and the whole experience felt relaxed and fun. We left the studio so thankful for a sweet baby like Kyren and a session that reminded us why we love what we do. T.H. P.:    What did you think when you first saw Kyren? Kelly: He’s the biggest blessing that’s happened in my life. T.H. P.:    How did you com...

Image
Our recent newborn session with Katy Jo and Zoey was truly a joy from start to finish. These sweet little babies were absolute angels, and even though it was a bit of a challenge at times, we were able to capture some truly beautiful moments. It was also a wonderful opportunity for our new assistants to get hands-on experience, and they did an amazing job helping during the session. Mom was completely smitten with her girls, and you could see the pure love and joy in her eyes as she watched them throughout the session. Having her mom there to lend a hand made the experience even smoother and more special. Beyond just capturing photos, this session was a meaningful experience for our team. We loved being able to create lasting memories for this family and were honored to be a part of such a tender time in their lives. Every coo, little yawn, and tiny stretch was a reminder of how precious these moments are, and it made our work feel even more rewarding. Sessions like this one are what ...

Hayes's newborn photos - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

Hayes was such a beautiful baby boy! He had lots of hair and was so peaceful and chill, which made our job so much fun. Even though he slept most of the time, every once in a while he would peek his eyes open and give us the funniest little looks. You could tell right away that he had a lot of personality. Mom and Dad are completely smitten with him—they just can’t get over how cute he is! I’m so excited about how these photos turned out. This session was actually a practice for one of our newer assistants learning baby wrapping, and Hayes was the perfect little model to help her learn. He made everything easy and enjoyable, and it was such a joy to photograph him. T.H. Peterson: What did you think when you first saw him? Kylee: Our first thought was, “Wow, look at all that hair!” But we were also thinking how beautiful he was. We were in love from the start. T.H. P.:  How did you come up with his name? Kylee:   We went through many baby name lists those first couple month...
