I’ve known Brenner for a little while now, and his senior session was exactly what I expected—full of energy, laughs, and plenty of shirtless moments (classic Brenner). We did his shoot at his family’s farm, which was the perfect spot for him. Between the pond, the barn, the greenhouse, and the chickens running around, it felt like home—and he was totally in his element. He pulled out toe touches, a backflip, and even some wrestling moves mid-session. Only Brenner could make a senior photo shoot feel like an action movie and a comedy show rolled into one. What I love about Brenner is that he’s always 100% himself. He’s hilarious, super athletic, and genuinely a good dude. He cheers, wrestles, trains MMA, and has big dreams of stepping into the cage one day—and I believe he’ll get there. He came into this session so excited, and it made the whole experience even more fun. I’ve always admired his confidence and drive, and I can’t wait to see where life takes him. He’s got a big heart, ...
Adrian is a senior at Topeka West, graduating with the Class of 2026. She’s been playing soccer since 3rd grade, and her love for the game really showed during her session. She’s confident, driven, and full of energy—and on top of that, incredibly photogenic with a beautiful, bright smile. We spent a lot of time focusing on her passion for soccer, and it was clear how much it means to her. At the end of the session, we headed out to the water at Shawnee Lake, just in time for the most incredible sunset. The sky lit up in a rich orange glow, giving us the perfect backdrop. Adrian looked amazing against the lake and sunset, and we captured some truly stunning images. It was such a fun evening and a session to remember! T.H. I recently had the joy of photographing sweet little Dannie for her newborn session. She is absolutely precious and so tiny! It feels like just yesterday I was capturing her big sister's newborn photos, and it's always such a treat to see this wonderful family again. They are completely in love with their newest addition, and you can feel the joy and love they have for her in every moment. Some of my favorite images from the session were the ones with her mom, dad, and big sisters. You can see the special bond they all share, and those photos really show how much love surrounds Dannie. It was such a beautiful session, and I’m so thankful I get to help preserve these sweet milestones for such an amazing family. Here are a few of my favorites! T.H. Peterson: What do the sisters think of their little sister? Chelsea: Liberty and Delilah love Dannie so much already. Liberty can’t wait to teach her everything she knows and Delilah is excited for another best friend. T.H. P: How ...
Shelbi is a senior at Shawnee Heights High School, and photographing her was such a joy! We started at her home, and her backyard was like a hidden park—full of gorgeous spots for pictures. Shelbi has the sweetest personality and a smile that lights up every photo. She was so easygoing and fun to be around, which made the session feel relaxed and natural. After that, we made our way to Shawnee Lake, and the timing couldn’t have been better. The sun was setting right over the water, giving us the most beautiful golden light. Shelbi’s laugh is the kind that makes you smile just hearing it, and it showed through in every shot. It was one of those sessions that felt more like hanging out with a friend than work. T.H. Peterson: What are your plans after high school? Shelbi: Studying to be a Sonogram Tech. T.H. P.: What is keeping you busy this summer? Shelbi: Work, friends & family. T.H. Baby Reese Jentry came to the studio for her session, and she was absolutely perfect! Mom and Dad brought along Dad’s Army uniform, and we were able to include it in some of her photos, which made the session so special and meaningful. It was such a beautiful way to honor his service and create a memory they’ll cherish forever. Reese was surrounded by so much love from Mom, Dad, and her two big brothers. They were all so smitten with her, and it was heartwarming to see how much she is already adored. We captured some amazing images of the whole family together, as well as some of Reese all by herself. I just love how her photos turned out — so sweet and full of love! T.H. Peterson: How did you come up with her name? Chelsea: They were the first two names we agreed on early in the pregnancy, and the middle name is also after her grandmother. T.H. P: What is the first thing you thought when you saw her? Chelsea: We thought that she was more perfect than we ever could have imagined. T...
I had such a great time photographing Higgins, a senior from Washburn Rural High School. He’s such a cool guy with tons of confidence and personality, which really came through in his photos. We started his session in front of the Federal Home Loan Bank — a spot I’d never shot at before — and I was blown away by the beautiful architecture and landscaping. It was the perfect backdrop for his dressy outfit and set the tone for some really sharp, classy images. After that, we headed to Cypress Ridge Golf Course to showcase Higgins’ passion for golf. The weather couldn’t have been better, and we captured some truly stunning shots of him out on the course. We wrapped up the evening at Kaw River Park just as the sun was setting over the water, giving us the most perfect, glowing images to end the session. Higgins is such a kind, easygoing guy, and his family was just as wonderful. Overall, it was an amazing experience with a fantastic senior! T.H. Peterson: What are your plans after high s...
Jayce's senior session was such a fun one! We started in the NOTO Arts District, where the colorful murals and artistic vibe gave us a great backdrop. The sun was low in the sky, casting a warm golden light that made everything glow. Jayce was easygoing and had a great smile, which made my job super easy. He brought a relaxed energy to the shoot, and we had a good time exploring the area and finding cool spots to shoot. After that, we made our way out to Shawnee State Fishing Lake just in time for sunset. The sky was glowing over the water, and it looked absolutely amazing. We captured Jayce with his fishing gear and his Dodge Ram—two of his favorite things—which made the photos even more personal and meaningful. It was the perfect way to wrap up his session. I'm so glad I got to help him mark this exciting time in his life! T.H. P: What classes are you glad to be done with? Jayce: Math. T.H. P: Something you liked about your session with us? Jayce: I felt really comfortabl...
I had such a great time photographing Preston downtown on the 4th of July! He wanted to show off his patriotism, and he really brought the spirit with red, white, and blue clothes, an American flag, and some colorful smoke bombs. Even though it was the middle of the day and pretty warm, he had such a good attitude the whole time. His great smile and fun personality made the session really enjoyable. Preston is an athlete too, but we decided to save that part of his story for another session. This time was all about celebrating the holiday and capturing his love for his country. He was so much fun to hang out with, and we got some really awesome shots. Here are a few of our favorites from his session! T.H. Peterson: What are your plans after high school? Preston: College. Currently trying to decide between Washburn and Baker University. T.H. P: What is your dream job? Preston: Helping kids with special needs. T.H. P: Something you liked about your session with us? Preston: You...
Briar’s senior session at the Kansas History Museum was such a joy to photograph! Briar was so much fun to be around—her personality made the session fly by, and she brought such a relaxed, happy energy to the shoot. From the first photo to the last, Briar was all smiles and full of life. Her laughter was contagious, and she made every spot at the museum look like it was made just for her. A few weeks ago I had the privilege of photographing MaKayla from Silver Lake during an early morning sunrise session at her school. We started on the softball field, and the sky put on the most colorful display — pinks, oranges, and purples that made the perfect backdrop for her softball photos. You could clearly see how much she loves the sport in every shot, and the sunrise made the whole scene feel really special. After we finished on the field, we headed inside the school to capture some awesome wrestling photos. Even though MaKayla recently injured her thumb, she didn’t let that slow her down one bit. She showed so much strength and determination, and it was inspiring to see her passion for both sports come through in her photos. It was truly an amazing session from start to finish! T.H. Peterson: What are you up to this summer? MaKayla: Lots of softball and hanging out with friends and family! T.H. P: What classes are you looking forward to most your senior year? MaKayla:...
