So we had an awesome time with these girls! It's Lily's birthday and everyone was getting out of school, so to celebrate, they spent a couple days camping at Pomona Lake! The cabins are amazing and what a fun thing to do! So we were invited to do a session with them and just have a good time. These girls are so funny and the laughing and giggling was non stop. They have named themselves the Fab 5 and it was really cool to see their bond and friendship. I hope they have this friendship for the rest of their lives! So here are a few shots of the time we spent with them and below is a video we put together of their party. There's lots of neat pictures and video clips. Now this was a special session! It's not often we photograph multiples for newborn sessions but these little girls were just perfect and despite them being born several months ago, because they were so premature they photographed just like brand new newborns! They were perfect! What a wonderful session and what a special story mom has to tell! T.H. Peterson: What did you think when you found out you were having twins? Taylor.: I was shocked and did not know anything about twins before being pregnant with them. I later found out identical twins are a fluke and do not run in families. It’s been been a learning experience for sure but I would not trade it for the world. T.H. P.: What did you think when you first saw them? Taylor.: Due to complication of twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome, I had the girls via c-section at 29 weeks. My first glance was brief before they were whisked away to the NICU. I remember thinking how small they were (Janie-3.6 lbs & Jovie-2.1 lbs) and how fe
We had the most absolutely perfect day for the Popkess family's spring session at Ward Meade. Sadly the tulips are all gone however the lush greenery made a perfect backdrop anywhere we posed this adorable family! As usual with families with littles the session is really more about them and Autumn just had the cutest smile and expressions. Made our time with them so much fun! Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind. Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day). Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain. If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session. This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session. If it is windy, wear your hair up. Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane! Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session. I was so excited to photograph Larae as she is the beautiful baby of a very long time client, like probably 15-20 years. So this was a very special occasion that I wanted to make sure was absolutely perfect and it was! Larae is just precious and such a chill baby! What a handsome little guy! I loved photographing Declan and his session was just perfect! I especially loved capturing the details like his spikey hair. Totally adorable! Hanna, who is a long time client, has recently begun helping us with newborns and it's been a huge blessing not only to our business but to her as well as she has had an opportunity to grow as a photographer herself and practice on getting better at wrapping and posing babies. She is growing by leaps and bounds and I am so thankful to have her on our team! She's someone I always appreciate having around! What a sweet baby! We had a wonderful time with Kayson and his mom and dad. They are so proud of him and you can tell they are going to raise him right and give him lots of love his whole life.
