Graduation session with Shi'erra Lolar - Graduate of Topeka High - Class of 2017

We are excited to share our graduation session with Shi'erra Lolar from Topeka High. Unlike our senior shoots we do frequently, this was actually a graduation session. We actually did senior portraits for Shi'erra back last year and now that she graduated, we did this special session for her. Her idea was to celebrate her graduation with photos instead of a party that would be forgotten but instead with portraits that would be remembered and cherished for years to come. I think that is a phenomenal idea! We shot these in Lawrence and I loved how her portraits turned out. The color of her outfits were perfect for the scenes we did them in. Now this was a special session! It's not often we photograph multiples for newborn sessions but these little girls were just perfect and despite them being born several months ago, because they were so premature they photographed just like brand new newborns! Jacob and Emily’s wedding was like something out of a fairytale. Held at the charming Stony Point Hall, just a short drive from Baldwin and Lawrence, it was a day filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. I was so excited to photograph Larae as she is the beautiful baby of a very long time client, like probably 15-20 years. So this was a very special occasion that I wanted to make sure was absolutely perfect and it was! Larae is just precious and such a chill baby! How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting.  Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th

What a sweet baby! We had a wonderful time with Kayson and his mom and dad. They are so proud of him and you can tell they are going to raise him right and give him lots of love his whole life.
