Interview with Brianna Jones - Osage City High - Class of 2018 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits


 I'm very happy to share a senior session we did with Biranna from Osage City High. She was an amazing model and had the most relaxed, most natural smile and expression. I LOVED photographing her!! She was a natural in front of the camera. It was a short session but it was still awesome and I love the variety we were able to get!! I'm not gonna lie, I was a little worried. A few hours before, it was super windy and rainy but then the sun came out. It was windy but that didn't keep us from getting amazing images. Also, I was really impressed by Brianna's attitude and personality. In the interview, I asked her a question about money and I was extremely impressed by her answer! Here's some highlights from our shoot. Hope you enjoy!!
T.H. Peterson: What are your plans after high school?

Brianna: I will be going to basic training for the air national guard and then off to Emporia State University.

T.H. P.: What class do you like most this year and least favorite and why?

Brianna: Psychology is my favorite and math is my least favorite. I enjoy learning about the human mind and how it works. I dislike math because I'm bad at it lol.

T.H. P.: How would your friends describe you?

Brianna: Goofy.

T.H. P.: What did you like most about your shoot with us?

Brianna:  It was quick, and very comfortable.

T.H. P.: If you had $500 and a free afternoon, what would you do?

Brianna: Go fishing and save the 500$.

T.H. P.: Favorite place to eat in Topeka?

Brianna: Red lobster, Olive Garden.

T.H. P.: Name a song that reminds you of your childhood?

Brianna: Sweet home Alabama.

T.H. P.: Favorite cartoon from when you were little?

Brianna: Dragon Tails and Blues Clues.

T.H. P.: Best advice your mom has ever given you and a favorite memory with her.

Brianna: My favorite memory with her is sledding down the coal mine hill.

Interview with Adrian Romero - Topeka West Class of 2026 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Adrian is a senior at Topeka West, graduating with the Class of 2026. She’s been playing soccer since 3rd grade, and her love for the game really showed during her session. She’s confident, driven, and full of energy—and on top of that, incredibly photogenic with a beautiful, bright smile. We spent a lot of time focusing on her passion for soccer, and it was clear how much it means to her. At the end of the session, we headed out to the water at Shawnee Lake, just in time for the most incredible sunset. The sky lit up in a rich orange glow, giving us the perfect backdrop. Dannie's newborn session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

I recently had the joy of photographing sweet little Dannie for her newborn session. She is absolutely precious and so tiny! It feels like just yesterday I was capturing her big sister's newborn photos, and it's always such a treat to see this wonderful family again. They are completely in love with their newest addition, and you can feel the joy and love they have for her in every moment. Some of my favorite images from the session were the ones with her mom, dad, and big sisters. You can see the special bond they all share, and those photos really show how much love surrounds Dannie. Shelbi is a senior at Shawnee Heights High School, and photographing her was such a joy! We started at her home, and her backyard was like a hidden park—full of gorgeous spots for pictures. Shelbi has the sweetest personality and a smile that lights up every photo. She was so easygoing and fun to be around, which made the session feel relaxed and natural. After that, we made our way to Shawnee Lake, and the timing couldn’t have been better. The sun was setting right over the water, giving us the most beautiful golden light. Reese Jentry's newborn session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

Baby Reese Jentry came to the studio for her session, and she was absolutely perfect! Mom and Dad brought along Dad’s Army uniform, and we were able to include it in some of her photos, which made the session so special and meaningful. It was such a beautiful way to honor his service and create a memory they’ll cherish forever. Reese was surrounded by so much love from Mom, Dad, and her two big brothers. They were all so smitten with her, and it was heartwarming to see how much she is already adored. Interview with Higgins Hawks - Washburn Rural Class of 2026 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

I had such a great time photographing Higgins, a senior from Washburn Rural High School. He’s such a cool guy with tons of confidence and personality, which really came through in his photos. We started his session in front of the Federal Home Loan Bank — a spot I’d never shot at before — and I was blown away by the beautiful architecture and landscaping. It was the perfect backdrop for his dressy outfit and set the tone for some really sharp, classy images. After that, we headed to Cypress Ridge Golf Course to showcase Higgins’ passion for golf. The weather couldn’t have been better, and we captured some truly stunning shots of him out on the course. We wrapped up the evening at Kaw River Park just as the sun was setting over the water, giving us the most perfect, glowing images to end the session. I had such a great time photographing Preston downtown on the 4th of July! He wanted to show off his patriotism, and he really brought the spirit with red, white, and blue clothes, an American flag, and some colorful smoke bombs. Even though it was the middle of the day and pretty warm, he had such a good attitude the whole time. His great smile and fun personality made the session really enjoyable. Preston is an athlete too, but we decided to save that part of his story for another session. This time was all about celebrating the holiday and capturing his love for his country. Jayce's senior session was such a fun one! We started in the NOTO Arts District, where the colorful murals and artistic vibe gave us a great backdrop. The sun was low in the sky, casting a warm golden light that made everything glow. Jayce was easygoing and had a great smile, which made my job super easy. He brought a relaxed energy to the shoot, and we had a good time exploring the area and finding cool spots to shoot. After that, we made our way out to Shawnee State Fishing Lake just in time for sunset. The sky was glowing over the water, and it looked absolutely amazing. A few weeks ago I had the privilege of photographing MaKayla from Silver Lake during an early morning sunrise session at her school. We started on the softball field, and the sky put on the most colorful display — pinks, oranges, and purples that made the perfect backdrop for her softball photos. You could clearly see how much she loves the sport in every shot, and the sunrise made the whole scene feel really special. After we finished on the field, we headed inside the school to capture some awesome wrestling photos. Even though MaKayla recently injured her thumb, she didn’t let that slow her down one bit. Briar’s senior session at the Kansas History Museum was such a joy to photograph! Even though we shot in the middle of the day, the light was absolutely amazing, and it lit up her great smile in every photo.
