Daniel's newborn session - Interview with mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

We have patiently waited for Daniel’s arrival since shooting Alaina’s maternity session. He was just as cute as we expected, and he has so much hair that it could be styled in a mohawk. He had the perfect newborn session, and he was settled the entire time. He was relaxed and sleepy and let us post him and some of our new props, and we got to end the session with him on a saddle. Daniel’s mom is a horse trainer so the saddle meant a lot to her. We are so excited for his pictures, we know you’ll love them too.
T.H. Peterson: What did your other children think when you told them you were pregnant with Daniel?  
Alaina: David wasnt old enough to understand and he's  still trying to figure it out! Aurora  was suprised but excited to have another sibling. 
Who does daniel look more like?
T.H. P.: Who does Daniel look most like?
Alaina: Most people think he looks like Dad, I just think he looks so much like his brother did.
T.H. P.: What is your favorite feature of his? (We love his hair!!!)
Alaina: We love his hair too! There's  just so much of it already. 
T.H. P.: What is one piece of advice you would like to give other moms?
Alaina: It's okay to feel like you dont know what you're doing half the time, as long as your kids go to bed feeling loved youre doing just fine.
T.H. P.: What was your favorite part of your session with us? 
Alaina: Tommy and Jesse are always so easy to work with. They keep things laid back and stress free!

Now this was a special session! It's not often we photograph multiples for newborn sessions but these little girls were just perfect and despite them being born several months ago, because they were so premature they photographed just like brand new newborns! How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting.  Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th

Hanna, who is a long time client, has recently begun helping us with newborns and it's been a huge blessing not only to our business but to her as well as she has had an opportunity to grow as a photographer herself and practice on getting better at wrapping and posing babies. What a sweet baby! We had a wonderful time with Kayson and his mom and dad. They are so proud of him and you can tell they are going to raise him right and give him lots of love his whole life. Cove was the sweetest little girl. She was so mellow and easy to photograph. She was just the cutest baby. Sierra: Her big brothers name is Cash, so I knew I wanted another one syllable name. When I stumbled upon Cove and said the names together, it was an instant yes.
