Interview with Trysten Botts - Washburn Rural Class of 2021 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

When Trysten and his mom first entered the studio, she told us that it was a struggle to get him to come and that he was a very shy guy. But once we started taking photos of him and cracking jokes, he began to light up! We really got a feel for Trysten’s personality and the kind of guy that he is. We learned that he is a Slytherin and that made so much sense after getting to know him.  He took our direction very well and ended up with some really cool shots. He was open to trying any of the poses that we suggested and added his own little flair to the shoot. We even did some Top Gun inspired shots with his mom!  Trysten has a very bright future ahead of him and it was an absolute pleasure to get to photograph him.

T.H. Peterson: What’s your favorite thing about going to Washburn Rural?

Trysten: I’ve gone to Washburn all the way since Kindergarten and that’s where all my friends go.

T.H. P.: Why are your plans after high school?

Trysten: Getting a job and working since I will finish Washburn Tech at the same time.

T.H. P.: Favorite and least favorite classes this year?

Trysten: My favorite class this year is tech and least favorite was government.

T.H. P.: Favorite place to eat in Topeka?

Trysten: HuHot.

T.H. P.: Favorite movie?

Trysten: Harry Potter- the entire series.

T.H. P.:  What song reminds you of your childhood?

Trysten: I can’t think of any.

T.H. P.: Okay then, what are some of your Favorite songs right now?

Trysten: Pretty much most classic rock and anything with good bass since I play both the double bass and bass guitar.

T.H. P.: Favorite outdoor activity?

Trysten: Fishing and hunting.

T.H. P.: What would people be surprised to learn about you?

Trysten’s mom:  He is actually a big softie.

T.H. P.: Best advice you’ve ever gotten from mom or dad or both.

Trysten: Dad gives terrible advice most of the time🤣 but do a job right the first time. Mom always tells me to not hit my brother and don’t worry about what other people think.

T.H. P.:  What could you give a TED talk with no preparation? Trysten: Gun Rights.
