Interview with Norah Parker - Mission Valley High Class of 2023 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits


Photographing Norah was a blast. She had such a happy and big personality.  She had the best smile. It was frigid outside but she managed to look relaxed and adorable in every photo.  She was a great subject, had great angles and beautiful expressions. I felt we connected really quickly. T.H. Peterson: What sets you apart from the other students in your grade?

Norah:  How outgoing and Accepting of everyone

T.H. P.:  What are some positive habits that you have picked up in high school that will help you in college?

Norah:  Turning in assignments on time, hard working determined when I need to be.

T.H. P.:  What is the last movie you saw and what did you think about it?

Norah:  Sixteen candles , think it is a great movie but don't feel  a 16 years old life is like that.

T.H. P.:  What song comes to mind when you think about your high school?

Norah:  Redneck yacht club

T.H. P.:  What was your favorite part of the session with us?

Norah:  When we were inside and out of the wind and cold.

T.H. P.:  What is your favorite class from high school and why?

Norah:  PE because it is an easy A

T.H. P.:  If money was no object, what kind of vehicle would you drive and why?

Norah:  2022 Subaru Outback sage green.

T.H. P.:  What would people be surprised to learn about you?

Norah:  I don't like milk

T.H. P.:  When you look back on this school in later years, what will you remember most?

Norah:  Winning  State Softball last year for Mission Valley

T.H. P.:  Where do you imagine yourself 10 years from now?

Norah:  Traveling the world for my job.

Now this was a special session! It's not often we photograph multiples for newborn sessions but these little girls were just perfect and despite them being born several months ago, because they were so premature they photographed just like brand new newborns! We had the most absolutely perfect day for the Popkess family's spring session at Ward Meade. Sadly the tulips are all gone however the lush greenery made a perfect backdrop anywhere we posed this adorable family! How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting.  Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th

I was so excited to photograph Larae as she is the beautiful baby of a very long time client, like probably 15-20 years. So this was a very special occasion that I wanted to make sure was absolutely perfect and it was! Larae is just precious and such a chill baby! Destrie: I have always loved the name Diego, and so I knew when I had a second boy he would have that name. T.H. P.: What does big bro think? Destrie: His brother is in total awe of him. Hanna, who is a long time client, has recently begun helping us with newborns and it's been a huge blessing not only to our business but to her as well as she has had an opportunity to grow as a photographer herself and practice on getting better at wrapping and posing babies. She is growing by leaps and bounds and I am so thankful to have her on our team! She's someone I always appreciate having around! What a sweet baby! We had a wonderful time with Kayson and his mom and dad. They are so proud of him and you can tell they are going to raise him right and give him lots of love his whole life.
