Layne Adelaide - Newborn Session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Newborn Photographers

I wanna tell you about this super adorable newborn we photographed yesterday. Her name is Layne Adelaide, and let me tell you, she's the cutest thing ever! We've known her family for a while now, and they're practically like family to us. This photoshoot was so awesome! Layne was perfect in any angle, and we captured some seriously beautiful pics of her. But you know what made it even more special? Her big brother, Easton, was there too, and he was just beaming with happiness around her. He totally adores his little sis, and it was the sweetest thing ever! Love capturing moments like this!

T.H. Peterson: How did you come up with her name?

Regan: I have always loved names for girls that can be used for boys too, and her dad’s favorite movie is 8 seconds, so we went with Lane but added a y to make it look girlier!

T.H. P.: Did you have any special cravings or foods you averted during pregnancy?

Regan: I was obsessed with cucumbers for a while and the thought of Chinese food made me super nauseous during my first trimester, which was really sad because that’s my favorite type of food.


T.H. P.: What has life been like adjusting to a new baby?

Regan: Much easier than I expected! It can definitely be a handful having a 2 year old and a newborn, but it has been pretty smooth sailing so far.

T.H. P.: What was your first thought when you saw Layne?

Regan: I couldn’t believe how big she was (9lbs 10.9oz) and the first thing her dad said was that she looked just like Easton!

T.H. P.: What does Easton think?

Regan: Easton absolutely loves her and has been the biggest helper. Every morning he wakes up looking for “baby sister” and always wants to hold her/love on her.

How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown ...

I recently had the joy of photographing an adorable baby named Forrest. He was so sweet, and his expressions could melt anyone’s heart. His mom was completely head over heels for him, and it was easy to see why. We set up a variety of different scenes to capture his cuteness, and he looked precious in every single one. This was a very special session. Miss Lainey is so tiny and beautiful and her mommy and daddy are absolutely in love! She is so sweet. Aubrey: We decided we wanted a Name that started L. Lainey’s dad would give lists of L names to me and I was never set on any of them. We almost decided to go with something different than L. I asked Chris his opinion of Lainey and he told me that he thought of that name recently but was done with getting turned down on all the lists of names he had came up with. Last week, I had the honor of photographing a beautiful baby girl named Laya in our studio. She was the perfect baby, so calm and peaceful throughout the session. Her mom and big brother came along, and you could just feel how much they love her. It was such a sweet moment seeing how they looked at her with so much pride and joy. We tried so many adorable newborn poses and props, and Laya absolutely rocked every single one of them. She gave us the cutest little expressions, making the photos even more special. Interview with Robert - Royal Valley Class of 2025 - Topeka's Best Senior Photos

I had the pleasure of photographing Robert, a high school senior from Royal Valley High. Robert is not just your average senior—he’s a football player with an amazing smile and one of the friendliest personalities you could ever meet. We couldn’t have asked for a better day for his session. The weather was perfect, and the sunlight gave everything a warm, golden glow. We started at Ward Meade Park, which is one of my favorite spots. The mix of colorful fall leaves and historic charm gave us some incredible backdrops. Robert was a natural in front of the camera, and his cheerful personality made it easy to capture some great shots. Interview with Haley Custenborder - Topeka High Class of 2025 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Last week, I had the chance to photograph Haley, and it was such a fun experience! Haley is super cute and has a great personality that made the session so easy and enjoyable. We started at the Topeka Zoo, where she had a really special moment with the giraffes. Haley is passionate about giraffes, and she even got to feed them, which made for some amazing and unique photos. You could tell how much she loves them, and it was awesome to capture that connection on camera. After the zoo, we headed to the golf course for some more photos. Golf is another big part of Haley's life, and it’s something she’s been doing for a long time. She’s really good at it too!
