Mycah's newborn session - Interview with mom - Topeka's Newborn Photographers
T.H. Peterson: What was your pregnancy like with Mycah?
Nicole: Mycah is a very special baby with a very special pregnancy. She is actually
our ivf rainbow baby; as we lost our previous child at 23 weeks last year. We were
very anxious and worried to go through that again, Mycah also is a twin; we lost
her twin around 10 weeks. So to say she has been long awaited, desired, wanted
and loved is an understatement. This was a very high risk pregnancy for us but we
took it with as much grace as we could. We feel incredibly blessed.
T.H. P.: How did you come up with her name?
Nicole: We chose Mycah as it has meaning in the Bible the meaning meant “who is like God” we didn’t find out the gender of our baby til she was born so Mycah would have been our babies name regardless of gender.
T.H. P.: What was your first thought when you saw her?
Nicole: When we first saw Mycah we both shed tears; it felt as though she was healing our hearts that had been broken in the worst way. She is so beautiful and the best part of each of us.
T.H. P.: What is something you liked about your session with us?
Nicole: I appreciated that it was not stressful for me. Any other newborn session I have done… I was stressed about keeping baby calm and that’s hard when you are so new postpartum. But the assistant was very maternal and cared for her well. Tommy took photos and kept moving quickly probably the quickest newborn session I’ve ever been a part of.
T.H. P.: Tips to first time parents?Nicole: Take all the time you can and want to bond, take all the photos, remember everything you can. Time goes way too fast and these are the most precious days.
