Interview with Aayla Briggs - WaRu Class of 2025 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

It was a beautiful morning and we started off at Gage Park in the rose garden. The perfect location for her! She is so photogenic and we got the best smiles! We then went downtown and to the capitol. She has a wonderful smile and a personality that can light up any photo! She was such a fun person to hang out with and photograph, I absolutely love the images we made of her! T.H. Peterson: What are your plans after high school?
Aayla:To go to K-State and get my bachelors degree in biochemistry and then go to medical school. 


T.H. P.: What is your dream job?
Aayla: Psychiatrist. 
T.H. P.: Something you liked about your session with us?
Aayla: The positivity. 
T.H. P.: Classes you are really enjoying this year?
Aayla: Biomedical research.  
T.H. P.: How would friends describe you?
Aayla: Kind smart intelligent helpful.

Aayla: When I am having a good eyelash day.

Aayla: I'm super smart.

Aayla: inside out 2, it was very emotionally touching and inspiring.

Layton Lynne's Newborn Session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

Layton was such a beautiful baby, and she gave us the sweetest little expressions throughout the whole session. I really loved getting to photograph these for mom and dad—it’s always special, but this one just felt extra meaningful. She made everything easy too. She settled in so well, posed like a pro, and we were able to get some really creative shots without much fuss at all. One of my favorite parts was incorporating the racing props since mom and dad are into demolition derby. Getting to pose Layton in one of their tires was just really cool and made the session feel so personal to them. And honestly, seeing how happy mom and dad were while holding her—that was the best part. You could just feel how much they love her. Kate and Adam's big day - Governor's Row House - Topeka Wedding Photography

Photographing Kate and Adam’s wedding was such a special experience. What was supposed to be a gray, rainy day turned into beautiful sunshine, and it honestly felt like everything just came together perfectly. Their venue had this warm, welcoming feel, and you could tell right away that this wasn’t just a wedding—it felt like a big family reunion. So many loved ones had traveled in, and the support from their family was obvious in every moment. The speeches were great, the father of the bride was so happy, and there were so many genuine smiles and happy tears throughout the day. Kate and Adam were an absolute joy to work with.   Grady was such a sweet little guy, and he had a full head of hair that just made him even more adorable. His two big sisters were completely in love with him, and it showed in every photo. They were so gentle and sweet, and honestly, I was really impressed with how interested and cooperative they were during the session. We were able to get some really beautiful images of all three of them together, and those moments felt really special. Tobias's newborn session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

Tobias was seriously one of the sweetest little babies we’ve ever photographed. He had the cutest little face and the calmest personality, which made the whole session feel really special. Mom and dad were there soaking in every moment, and Grandma came along too—completely in love with her new grandson. You could just feel how much this little guy is already adored. Tobias was a perfect little model the entire time, giving us the sweetest smirks and tiny expressions that made it hard to put the camera down. They also brought along his older cousin, who’s still just a toddler, and getting photos of the two of them together was such a fun part of the session. Those moments were full of personality and so much cuteness. Avery and Jeremiah’s engagement session at the Kansas Museum was such a great evening. The sun was out, and there was this soft haze in the sky that made everything feel extra warm and beautiful. It was one of those nights where the light just works perfectly, and it made their photos feel even more special. Bre and Trent Engagement Session - Osage Osage County Fishing Lake - Topeka's Best Engagement and Wedding Photographers

Bree and Trent’s engagement session was just one of those shoots that reminds me why I love what I do. We started things off in the studio, keeping it clean and simple with a seamless backdrop so all the focus stayed right on them. Right away, you could see how natural they are together—lots of laughs, easy smiles, and just that genuine connection you can’t fake. After that, we headed out to Osage Lake near the studio, and man… we could not have asked for a better day. The skies were that perfect deep blue, the light was beautiful, and everything just came together. How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown ...

Brynn and Justin's Engagement Session - Gridley, KS - Kansas Top Wedding Photographers

We started out on their property, and it was just incredible. Rolling fields, a classic Kansas sunset, and the kind of light you hope for every time. One of my favorite spots was this old wooden cross they had out in the field—it added such a meaningful, rustic touch. After that, we explored some abandoned buildings and then made our way to a farm nearby, which gave us even more variety. Everywhere we went just fit their vibe perfectly. We also got to include their little daughter, and she completely stole the show. So smiley, so expressive—just the cutest. The whole session felt easy and fun. Lots of laughs, some goofy moments, and just really good connection between them. You can tell how much they enjoy being together, and that always makes for the best photos.
