Interview with Brandon Austin - Washburn Rural Class of 2019 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

 Super excited to share our session with Brandon from Washburn Rural. We did these during the morning and I was thrilled with how the light looked that time of day. Brandon is a super nice and laid back guy. It was easy photographing him. He had a great smile and before I knew it the session was over! One of my favorite parts of his shoot was actually getting on a parking garage that we don't normally shoot at, mainly because of the look of the buildings in the background. They made for an awesome backdrop and I think it fit his session amazingly. Here are some highlights from his shoot. Hope you enjoy!
T.H. Peterson: What do you like most about Washburn Rural?
Brandon: I like the sports the most at WRHS.
T.H. P.: Any cool plans for the summer?
Brandon: I’m going to New York City.
T.H. P.: What do you look forward to most your senior year?
Brandon: I look forward to graduating the most my senior year.
T.H. P.: What did you like most about your shoot with us?
Brandon: I liked the friendliness and the good location ideas. 
T.H. P.: What is your favorite and least favorite thing about playing soccer?
Brandon: My teammates are my favorite part about soccer. I will not miss conditioning camp! 
T.H. P.: What is your favorite sport to watch?
Brandon: My favorite sport to watch is football and basketball.
T.H. P.: Favorite candy bar?
Brandon: Kit Kat.
T.H. P.: What TV show were you obsessed with when you were a kid?
Brandon: I have watched ESPN ever since I was young. I can’t remember being obsessed with any kid shows. 
T.H. P.: Motorcycle, truck, sports car or horse?
Brandon: Sports car would be my choice.

Reese Jentry's newborn session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

Baby Reese Jentry came to the studio for her session, and she was absolutely perfect! Mom and Dad brought along Dad’s Army uniform, and we were able to include it in some of her photos, which made the session so special and meaningful. It was such a beautiful way to honor his service and create a memory they’ll cherish forever. Reese was surrounded by so much love from Mom, Dad, and her two big brothers. They were all so smitten with her, and it was heartwarming to see how much she is already adored. We captured some amazing images of the whole family together, as well as some of Reese all by herself. I just love how her photos turned out — so sweet and full of love! T.H. Interview with Higgins Hawks - Washburn Rural Class of 2026 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

I had such a great time photographing Higgins, a senior from Washburn Rural High School. He’s such a cool guy with tons of confidence and personality, which really came through in his photos. We started his session in front of the Federal Home Loan Bank — a spot I’d never shot at before — and I was blown away by the beautiful architecture and landscaping. It was the perfect backdrop for his dressy outfit and set the tone for some really sharp, classy images. After that, we headed to Cypress Ridge Golf Course to showcase Higgins’ passion for golf. The weather couldn’t have been better, and we captured some truly stunning shots of him out on the course. We wrapped up the evening at Kaw River Park just as the sun was setting over the water, giving us the most perfect, glowing images to end the session. Interview with MaKayla Connor - Silver Lake Class of 2026 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

A few weeks ago I had the privilege of photographing MaKayla from Silver Lake during an early morning sunrise session at her school. We started on the softball field, and the sky put on the most colorful display — pinks, oranges, and purples that made the perfect backdrop for her softball photos. You could clearly see how much she loves the sport in every shot, and the sunrise made the whole scene feel really special. After we finished on the field, we headed inside the school to capture some awesome wrestling photos. Even though MaKayla recently injured her thumb, she didn’t let that slow her down one bit. Zach’s senior session was absolutely killer! We started downtown and then finished at Kaw River Park just as the sun was setting, and the lighting could not have been more perfect. Zach brought his guitar along, and it was easy to see how passionate he is about playing. He’s completely self-taught and doesn’t even read sheet music — just plays by ear and feeling. That made his session feel so personal and unique, and it really showed off his talent and personality. Zach is such a fast learner and such a nice guy. He made the whole session fun and easy, and his great attitude really shined through in every photo. Meet sweet baby Kinsley! She came to our studio for her newborn session, and what a beautiful baby she is. Kinsley had the most expressive little face—we saw so many emotions and adorable looks from her during the session. She even gave us the tiniest little smile, and it melted our hearts. Her mom, Riley, couldn't stop talking about how special she is, and we could definitely see why. Kinsley is not only beautiful, but also full of personality already! Kinsley was such a dream to photograph. She was calm, cooperative, and happy to pose for us. I had such a great time photographing Preston downtown on the 4th of July! He wanted to show off his patriotism, and he really brought the spirit with red, white, and blue clothes, an American flag, and some colorful smoke bombs. Even though it was the middle of the day and pretty warm, he had such a good attitude the whole time. His great smile and fun personality made the session really enjoyable. Preston is an athlete too, but we decided to save that part of his story for another session. This time was all about celebrating the holiday and capturing his love for his country. Meet sweet little Lyncoln! This adorable baby girl has so much personality already, and it was such a joy to photograph her. Mom and Dad were absolutely glowing with happiness as they cuddled her close. Dad especially couldn’t stop gushing over how perfect she is — it was so special to see how much love they have for her.   Isaac’s senior session was such a fun one! We started at the baseball field at Washburn Rural, where his love for the game really stood out. He lit up talking about it, and you could tell it’s a big part of who he is. Isaac was so personable and easy to talk to—he had a great smile and was just a genuinely nice guy. The conversation flowed naturally, and I felt totally at ease around him. After the field, we headed to Clarion Woods for some nature shots, and then finished the evening at B&B Theatres just as the sun went down. I recently had the joy of photographing sweet little Dannie for her newborn session. She is absolutely precious and so tiny! It feels like just yesterday I was capturing her big sister's newborn photos, and it's always such a treat to see this wonderful family again. They are completely in love with their newest addition, and you can feel the joy and love they have for her in every moment. Some of my favorite images from the session were the ones with her mom, dad, and big sisters. You can see the special bond they all share, and those photos really show how much love surrounds Dannie.
