Larry and Carolyn elope at Wilson Lake - Beautiful summer celebration at the lake - Kansas Wedding Photographer

Wow! Photographing Larry and Carolyn’s elopement was straight up amazing! They are from Topeka but found Wilson Lake while looking online and Carolyn said she HAD to get married there! They planned it out and had their ceremony right on the water. It was a bright and sunny morning and it was absolutely gorgeous. The blue skies made the most perfect backdrop and it was one of the most scenic locations I’ve ever shot at. I would highly recommend a visit as it is in my opinion one of the coolest locations I’ve ever been to in Kansas.

Larry and Carolyn are such a cute couple. They are crazy about each other and it was very special to be able to be a part of something like this with them! I felt honored to be able to witness such a loving and beautiful event. They had so many beautiful moments and portraits. Here are just a few of my favorites. I hope you enjoy! Now this was a special session! It's not often we photograph multiples for newborn sessions but these little girls were just perfect and despite them being born several months ago, because they were so premature they photographed just like brand new newborns! I was so excited to photograph Larae as she is the beautiful baby of a very long time client, like probably 15-20 years. So this was a very special occasion that I wanted to make sure was absolutely perfect and it was! Larae is just precious and such a chill baby! How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting.  Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th

What a sweet baby! We had a wonderful time with Kayson and his mom and dad. They are so proud of him and you can tell they are going to raise him right and give him lots of love his whole life. Cove was the sweetest little girl. She was so mellow and easy to photograph. She was just the cutest baby. Sierra: Her big brothers name is Cash, so I knew I wanted another one syllable name. When I stumbled upon Cove and said the names together, it was an instant yes.
