Janelle and Mike's big day - Arterra Event Gallery - Lawrence, KS - Perfect Wedding Day!

Hey there, beautiful people! Let me tell you about the incredible wedding we had the pleasure of photographing for Janelle and Mike at the stunning Arterra venue in Lawrence. This wedding may have been small, but it was overflowing with beauty, love, and pure joy.

From the moment we arrived at Arterra, we knew it was going to be a magical celebration. Situated in Lawrence, this hidden gem of a venue gives you the feeling of being out in the serene countryside, while still being conveniently located. It provided the perfect backdrop for Janelle and Mike's love story to unfold.

Janelle was an absolute vision of beauty. She radiated happiness and excitement as she walked down the aisle, stunning everyone with her elegance. And let's not forget about Mike! He looked incredibly handsome and couldn't contain his excitement to marry the love of his life. Their genuine smiles and laughter were contagious, spreading joy to everyone in attendance.

Surrounded by their closest friends and family, Janelle and Mike exchanged vows that tugged at our heartstrings. Their love for each other was palpable, and you could feel the joy and support emanating from their loved ones. It was a truly intimate and heartfelt ceremony. I saw many tears of joy from them and in the crowd.

Let's talk about the food! Barbacoa tacos... It's safe to say that no one left the reception with an empty stomach.

As the sun began its descent, we stole a few moments with Janelle and Mike to capture some breathtaking sunset photos. The golf course connected to the venue provided a picturesque backdrop, and the golden hour light enveloped them in a warm glow. It was a moment of pure romance and tranquility.

But the night was far from over! The dance floor came alive with energy and excitement as Janelle, Mike, and their loved ones celebrated with infectious dance moves. Laughter filled the air, and the joyous atmosphere was simply electric. It was a night to remember, filled with endless laughter, happy tears, and memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.

How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting.  Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th

I was so excited to photograph Larae as she is the beautiful baby of a very long time client, like probably 15-20 years. What a sweet baby! We had a wonderful time with Kayson and his mom and dad. They are so proud of him and you can tell they are going to raise him right and give him lots of love his whole life.
