Interview with Brenner Beninga - Washburn Rural Class of 2026 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits
I’ve known Brenner for a little while now, and his senior session was exactly what I expected—full of energy, laughs, and plenty of shirtless moments (classic Brenner). We did his shoot at his family’s farm, which was the perfect spot for him. Between the pond, the barn, the greenhouse, and the chickens running around, it felt like home—and he was totally in his element. He pulled out toe touches, a backflip, and even some wrestling moves mid-session. Only Brenner could make a senior photo shoot feel like an action movie and a comedy show rolled into one.
What I love about Brenner is that he’s always 100% himself. He’s hilarious, super athletic, and genuinely a good dude. He cheers, wrestles, trains MMA, and has big dreams of stepping into the cage one day—and I believe he’ll get there. He came into this session so excited, and it made the whole experience even more fun. I’ve always admired his confidence and drive, and I can’t wait to see where life takes him. He’s got a big heart, a big personality, and a big future ahead.
T.H. Peterson: On a scale of 1 to "I never wear shirts," how
allergic are you to clothing?Brenner: I wear clothes when society forces me to. Otherwise
I grace my peers with beautiful chiseled body and frame.
T.H. P: What’s your weirdest hidden talent that absolutely no one asked for?Brenner: I used to be incredibly good at Tetris. I was number 1# in Kansas on the Tetris mobile app for a little bit.
T.H. P: What are your goals after graduation?
Brenner: I plan to continue being awesome. And a male nurse. I want to help people. I will keep my shirt on at work.
T.H. P: Be honest—have you ever practiced a takedown on your sibling?
Brenner: To assert myself as the alpha sibling and the most tough (and good-looking), I of course have to show my wrestling prowess to my siblings by tossing them through tables WWE-style.
T.H. P: Who has been your biggest inspiration during your high school years?
Brenner: My mom, she’s pretty cool. She’s helping me become a nurse by showing me the way.
T.H. P: If your mom’s cooking dinner, what meal are you secretly hoping it is?
Brenner: If my mom cooks dinner I hope it has a lot of meat and carbs in it to help fuel my body. I love all of my mom’s cooking and know it will be good when she makes dinner. But my favorite is fried potatoes and sausages.
T.H. P: What is something you liked about your session with us?
Brenner: The session was fun! I really got to be myself and express myself through the photos. It was super amazing. And I set the record for most shirtless photos.
T.H. P: What is your favorite UFC fighter?
Brenner: Alexander “The Great” Volkanovski. He is an incredible fighter and good human being. He seems like a great guy in real life and I respect that.
T.H. P: Have you ever shadowboxed in the bathroom mirror and accidentally scared yourself?
Brenner: I have not scared myself, but my reflection has been TERRIFIED by the sheer power and force of man that stands in front of it.
