Kaylahni's newborn session - Interview with mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

What a sweet session. This first picture of big brother with Kaylahni is so precious. He clearly loves her. They're going to share so many special moments. Our session with their family was just great! I loved her session and am so happy to share it with you! Here's a few of our favorites!

T.H. Peterson: What did you think when you first saw Kaylahni?

Gwendolyn: We thought she was absolutely perfect and beautiful.

T.H. P.: How did you come up with her name?

Gwendolyn: We went on our 5 year wedding anniversary to Hawaii and we thought it was absolutely beautiful and heavenly like her name. 

T.H. P.: What does big bro think?

Gwendolyn: He is obsessed with her and loves to just be around her and very overprotective. 

T.H. P.:  What is something you liked about your session with us? 

Gwendolyn: We loved how patient,friendly and professional everyone was.

T.H. P.: What is life like with a new baby in the house?
Gwendolyn: It's a beautiful tiring blessing.

Now this was a special session! It's not often we photograph multiples for newborn sessions but these little girls were just perfect and despite them being born several months ago, because they were so premature they photographed just like brand new newborns! Emily and Jacob's Magical Wedding at Stony Point Hall - Beautiful Kansas celebration - Lawrence, Topeka, KS Wedding Photographers

Jacob and Emily’s wedding was like something out of a fairytale. Held at the charming Stony Point Hall, just a short drive from Baldwin and Lawrence, it was a day filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. The venue, Stony Point Hall, was the perfect backdrop for their special day. Nestled in the countryside, it exudes rustic charm and elegance, setting the scene for a dreamy celebration. I was so excited to photograph Larae as she is the beautiful baby of a very long time client, like probably 15-20 years. So this was a very special occasion that I wanted to make sure was absolutely perfect and it was! Larae is just precious and such a chill baby! How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting.  Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th

Destrie: I have always loved the name Diego, and so I knew when I had a second boy he would have that name. T.H. P.: What does big bro think? Destrie: His brother is in total awe of him. What a handsome little guy! I loved photographing Declan and his session was just perfect! I especially loved capturing the details like his spikey hair. Totally adorable! What a sweet baby! We had a wonderful time with Kayson and his mom and dad. They are so proud of him and you can tell they are going to raise him right and give him lots of love his whole life. Jaymee: It's a name that's not heard very often that we could spell a unique way.  T.H. P.: Who does he look like? Jaymee: For sure his dad.  T.H.
