Alayah's newborn session - Interview with mom - Topeka's Baby Photographers

Miss Alayah was a beautiful little model for us! She looked adorable and gave us some super cute expressions. She was very interested in what we were doing! These are just a few of our favorites from the session. Enjoy!

T.H. Peterson: What did you think when you first saw Alayah?

Chanel: she looks totally different from her brothers and a lot smaller

 

T.H. P.: How did you come up with her name?

Chanel: I got it from Princess Leia from Star Wars but with my own twist. 

T.H. P.: How was your pregnancy? Did you have any food cravings?

Chanel: It was rough but a great surprise because she was a boy up until 22 weeks. I craved Mexican food also sweet tarts, pickles. 

T.H. P.: What do her siblings think? Chanel: Let’s just say with four older brothers she will be very protected!

Sadly the tulips are all gone however the lush greenery made a perfect backdrop anywhere we posed this adorable family! Oh Skylar! A beautiful baby with thick black hair and an adorable presence, stole our hearts with her funny expressions and cooperative demeanor during our photography session with her. From fun poses to riding a unicorn, Skylar made every moment memorable. She is just so cute! She radiates joy and sweetness! T.H. Peterson: What did you think when you first saw Skylar? Madi: When I first saw Skylar I couldn’t believe how big she was and how much hair she had. T.H. P.: How did you come up with her name? Madi: It took us a long time to find a name we both liked. After a few weeks of going through names we finally agreed on Skylar. T.H. I was so excited to photograph Larae as she is the beautiful baby of a very long time client, like probably 15-20 years. So this was a very special occasion that I wanted to make sure was absolutely perfect and it was! Larae is just precious and such a chill baby! How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting.  Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th
