Piper's newborn session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

Image
There was so much to love about Piper's newborn session! The first thing everyone noticed was her incredible head of hair. She had thick blonde hair that honestly looked like a tiny little wig. She was absolutely beautiful and one of the most mellow babies we've photographed. I don't think we heard a single peep out of her the entire session. She was content, sleepy, and sweet from start to finish, making it easy to capture lots of different poses and expressions. It was also obvious how much this family loves their newest little addition. Big sister, who is just three years old, was completely smitten with Piper. She loved holding her, giving her kisses, and being close to her throughout the session. Those moments were some of my favorites because they were so genuine and sweet. Between Piper's calm personality, her adorable hair, and all the love from her family, this session couldn't have gone any better. It was truly the perfect newborn shoot. T.H. P.: What did...

Interview with Payden Born - Eudora High School Class of 2027 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Image
Payden's senior session was such a great one from start to finish. We started out at Eudora High School, where we were able to incorporate some of the activities that have been an important part of his high school years, including band and Science Olympiad. Payden was friendly, easy to work with, and had a great smile throughout the session. One thing I noticed was how much he lit up when talking about Science Olympiad and some of the things he's involved in at school. As soon as the conversation turned to something he was passionate about, he relaxed and his personality really started to shine through, which always makes for the best natural expressions. After finishing at the high school, we headed to a nearby pond and were treated to one of the most incredible sunsets I've seen in a while. The water was perfectly still, creating a beautiful backdrop as the sun dropped lower in the sky. Everything seemed to glow with warm golden light, and it made for some truly stunning ...

Lillian and Brendon's beautiful wedding day - Gorgeous Rustic Kansas Wedding

Image
Brendon and Lillian's wedding day was one we won't soon forget. Tucked away on a beautiful family property deep in the woods, their ceremony felt like something out of a storybook. Earlier in the week, everyone was keeping a close eye on the weather and preparing for the possibility of rain, but the skies cooperated perfectly. We were even treated to some sunshine throughout the day, making the already gorgeous setting feel even more magical. From the moment the day began, there was a mix of excitement, nerves, laughter, happy tears, and all the emotions that make wedding days so special. Their sweet little boy was also a huge part of the day and completely stole the show more than once. He was all smiles from start to finish, happy, playful, and about as photogenic as a kid can be. Every time we pointed a camera in his direction, he was ready with another adorable expression. One of the most touching moments came during the father-daughter dance. Lillian's dad had injured ...

Interview with Janae Bainbridge - Class of 2027 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Image
Janae is such a great example of why I love senior sessions so much. Since she’s homeschooled, we had the flexibility to do an extra long session and really bring a lot of creative ideas to life. Honestly, I was completely blown away the entire time. She is not only beautiful and incredibly photogenic, but she also brought so many great ideas of her own to the session. Janae is both a ballerina and a basketball player, and we were able to build a session that showed both sides of who she is. We finished the evening out on the Kansas River with the most beautiful sunset behind her, and it was the perfect ending to an already amazing session. One of the biggest highlights for me was photographing her ballet photos at the Topeka Performing Arts Center. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever photographed ballet before, and watching her move so effortlessly was incredible. Her athleticism, form, and control were just amazing to watch. At one point I told her she looked like she was coming down fr...
