Cassie and Brandon's amazing day! The Beacon Wedding Venue - Topeka Wedding Photography

Brandon and Cassie were married last Saturday at The Beacon in Topeka, and what a beautiful day it was! The Beacon is such a classic, historic venue, and it made the perfect backdrop for their wedding. It was the last really hot day of summer before all the cool weather moved in, so we stayed inside the entire time. Honestly, though, with a building this beautiful, we never once wished we were outside. The lighting was amazing, there were so many different rooms and looks to work with, and the architecture was just gorgeous. One of my favorite moments was photographing Cassie on the huge grand staircase on the lower level, showing off her long train. It was absolutely stunning. And then there were the tears! I joked with Brandon and Cassie about how many happy emotions were bubbling over throughout the day. From a photography standpoint, it made for such an amazing experience because there were so many tender moments, happy tears, hugs, and genuine connections happening all around them...

Interview with Mason Haas - Shawnee Heights High Class of 2027 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

We had a great time photographing Mason for his senior pictures! We started out at the Beddish soccer fields, which was a perfect place to show off one of the things he loves most... soccer. Mason is a serious athlete who works hard and clearly enjoys the game, so it was awesome to capture that part of his life. It was also one of those really hot days toward the end of summer, with the sun beating down on us, but I actually think that helped give us some really intense skies and a unique look to some of the images. From there, we headed out for some sunset lake photos before making our way downtown. We finished the session on top of a parking garage and then ended up on Kansas Avenue after dark. We don't normally take senior sessions all the way into nighttime, but doing that gave us a chance to create something really different. Interview with Brek Wahlmeier - Hayden High Class of 2027 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

We had a great time photographing Brek for his senior pictures! We started off at the natatorium, where we got some really awesome and dramatic swimming photos. From there, we headed to the tennis courts at Hayden High School, where Brek goes to school. We were able to get some really cool shots there, both dramatic and fun. Brek was a cool guy, had a great smile, and was willing to try anything we wanted to do. After the tennis courts, we headed downtown and got some photos on top of a parking garage, along with a spot that gave us lots of variety. One of his outfits was a suit, and I thought that was a really great look for him. He looked sharp! All in all, it was a very fun session, and I really enjoyed working with Brek. Interview with Maddy Hladky - Washburn Rural High Class of 2027 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

We had a great time photographing Maddy for her senior session at Gage Park and the Rose Garden. It was interesting because I don't normally get a request to do an entire senior session in one location, but Gage Park has so much to offer that it was a nice challenge to get creative and capture an entire session within the confines of one location that we use quite often. We really got to explore the park, and before we knew it, the session was over. Maddy is a beautiful young lady; great smile. She's friendly, smart, and just a lot of fun to photograph. I really loved the photos we got in the Rose Garden itself. Maddy was wearing a pink top, and some of my favorite images were with the sunset hitting her hair and the pink roses in the background. It just made for some beautiful images. We had a great time, and Mom was there with us, so we enjoyed hanging out with her as well. It was just a really fun session from start to finish. T.H.
