Interview with Lexie Clemens - Seaman High Class of 2027 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Image
Lexie's senior session was such a fun one from start to finish! We kicked things off at the Kansas Museum, made our way to the Capitol, and wrapped things up at Ted Ensley Gardens. These are three classic Topeka locations for senior pictures, but I absolutely loved how we used each one to create a variety of looks that fit Lexie perfectly. When we started, it was actually drizzling outside, and I was a little worried about the weather. Thankfully, the light rain didn't slow us down at all, and we ended up having an amazing session. Lexie is incredibly photogenic and has a beautiful smile that shines through in every photo. Her personality made the entire session easy and enjoyable, and before we knew it, our time together was over. She did such a great job in front of the camera that we ended up with more great images than we normally do during a session of this length. One of my favorite parts was that Lexi brought her own camera along because she enjoys photography herself. I...

Interview with Isabelle Reiser - Hayden High Class of 2027 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Image
I've had the chance to photograph Isabelle for many years, so getting to create her senior photos was a real honor. Disney has always been a huge part of her life, and it was so much fun finding ways to work that passion into her session. I've photographed Disney fans before, but Isabel definitely takes it to another level! Her excitement and personality made the whole experience a blast. We spent part of the session down by the river and finished the evening out in the open where we could take advantage of an incredible sunset and beautiful sky. The combination of great light, meaningful locations, and Isabelle's personality helped create images that I know her family will treasure for years to come. Being trusted to document such an important milestone is something I'll never take for granted, and I'm so thankful I got to be a small part of this season in her life. T.H. P.: Favorite Disney movie? Isabelle: Either Princess and the Frog or Tangled. T.H. P.: Why d...

Interview with Kayden Baker - Perry Lecompton High Class of 2027 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Image
Some senior sessions are good, and some are just flat-out memorable. Kaden’s session at Clarion Woods definitely falls into the second category. Kayden is a senior at Perry-Lecompton High School and plays both football and baseball, so we knew we wanted something that felt strong and athletic. His mom had a vision for a dramatic photo of him coming out of the pond with water splashing everywhere, and it turned out even better than we imagined. Kayden was a great sport through it all, willing to jump in and trust the process, and the results were incredible. Once we added some smoke, dramatic lighting, and a few strong poses, everything came together. The photos really highlighted how much hard work Kaden has put into athletics over the years. More than anything, though, it was easy to see what a solid young man he has become. I even mentioned to his mom during the session how grown up he looked. He has a great personality, was easy to work with, and made this one of those sessions tha...

Piper's newborn session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

Image
There was so much to love about Piper's newborn session! The first thing everyone noticed was her incredible head of hair. She had thick blonde hair that honestly looked like a tiny little wig. She was absolutely beautiful and one of the most mellow babies we've photographed. I don't think we heard a single peep out of her the entire session. She was content, sleepy, and sweet from start to finish, making it easy to capture lots of different poses and expressions. It was also obvious how much this family loves their newest little addition. Big sister, who is just three years old, was completely smitten with Piper. She loved holding her, giving her kisses, and being close to her throughout the session. Those moments were some of my favorites because they were so genuine and sweet. Between Piper's calm personality, her adorable hair, and all the love from her family, this session couldn't have gone any better. It was truly the perfect newborn shoot. T.H. P.: What did...
