Brendon and Lillian's wedding day was one we won't soon forget. Tucked away on a beautiful family property deep in the woods, their ceremony felt like something out of a storybook. Earlier in the week, everyone was keeping a close eye on the weather and preparing for the possibility of rain, but the skies cooperated perfectly. We were even treated to some sunshine throughout the day, making the already gorgeous setting feel even more magical. From the moment the day began, there was a mix of excitement, nerves, laughter, happy tears, and all the emotions that make wedding days so special. Their sweet little boy was also a huge part of the day and completely stole the show more than once. He was all smiles from start to finish, happy, playful, and about as photogenic as a kid can be. Amber and Matt’s wedding at Abe and Jake’s Landing in Lawrence, Kansas, was such a beautiful celebration. From the moment I arrived, it was clear how much love and respect they have for each other. The smiles, the tears, the laughter, and all the warm hugs made the day feel so full of emotion. They looked absolutely amazing, and their beautiful family added even more joy to the day. It was one of those weddings that just felt special from start to finish. One of the most unique parts of their wedding was the live cover band from Kansas City playing Talking Heads songs — such a fun and unexpected twist! I’ve never seen anything like it at a wedding, and it brought so much energy to the night. The dance floor stayed full with guests of all ages having the best time. Amber and Matt are truly lovely people with a deep connection and obvious dedication to each other. It was a pleasure meeting Abbie and Ryan! I traveled to two iconic KC locations Nelson Atkins Museum and the National WW2 Museum and Memorial. Both perfect backdrops for this awesome couple. Usually I meet couples prior to their session but I met them that day at Nelson Atkins front lawn and we really hit it off! They are a great couple, very unique and full of personality and character! They looked incredible for their session and what really made me happy was their chemistry. They had no problems cuddling and being playful with each other in front of the camera. I got to really experience their personalities and I'm so happy that this session showed off a little bit of who they are! I'm excited to spend the day with them for their wedding. Yesterday we photographed Brandon and Sydney's Engagement session. I've known Brandon for several years and it was great to see him again and I met Sydney last year while shooting a wedding of a relative of Brandon's. I knew then that they were a great match. Their session was so much fun. Sydney is such a sweet young woman and she and Brandon had great chemistry in their session. We did these at the lake near our studio and even though it's late November, it was actually a really nice afternoon. Not too cold at all and it was just a really great afternoon with the perfect backdrop for their session. I'm thrilled with how they turned out and hope you love these photos!
