So this is what I've been working on all morning. Chicken and sausage gumbo. I grew up in south Louisiana, about an hour south of New Orleans to be specific (yes there is something south of New Orleans). Yes way down on the bayou. That's what we called it, The Bayou. If you were going north, you were going 'up da bayou' and if you were going south, you were going 'down da bayou'. That was directions everyone gave. And while I don't miss the weather, allergies, humidity, I do miss the people and the food. So this morning in my homesickness, I decided to make chicken and sausage gumbo. As much of Cajun food is, gumbo is complex and full of spice but unlike most people's misconception it is usually not very spicy in regards to heat. Just lots of spice and flavor! I was thinking about blogging some fun blog posts about all the photographers and assistants that work with us so you can get to know us a little better! So today's blog post will be about me, Tommy Peterson!!!! Here are 10 things you may not know about me. Enjoy! 1. I'm a shy person at heart. I grew up tremendously shy. I was dysfunctional. I have seen people who are really, REALLY shy and they don't function well. Trust me, I was much worse. I remember once my grandmother coming over for dinner. I stayed in my room hungry because I was only comfortable being around my family and very close friends. As I grew up and got older I realized if I didn't snap out of my shyness I would be miserable the rest of my life!! But deep down inside I still have to suppress my shyness. I'm getting better at it.  Last week was so much fun! We got to hang out with Ashley and Robby from our wedding contest! We had so much fun photographing them and their two beautiful dogs. The doggies were so nice and friendly, exactly like their owners! These guys seriously had TONS of amazing images, but as always I have to narrow it down to a handful of our favorites!  Aren't these animals so beautiful!!  From the very beginning, these guys were completely relaxed and at ease with each other in front of the camera. So fun and it made photographing them fun and interesting! I LOVE my job when I get couples like this!!!  We got one of the last beautiful days of fall. I think at this point, it's getting pretty chilly and cool. Though we're always up for shoots outdoors if our couples are. It was really windy but the sun felt great and I felt like we were just hanging out and having fun all afternoon! I absolutely love how in love these two are. It's why I do what I do. Earlier this week we wrapped our senior portrait session with an awesome senior from Hayden High School. Patrick is a super awesome young man who we loved photographing. A very respectful and honorable teenager who we felt honored to meet as well as photograph. He had tons of amazing images. As usual, here's some of our favorites! Patrick, a huge Chiefs fan, was photographed with his Chiefs stuff. Those were lots of fun to do too! Definitely one of my personal favorites. One of my favorite shots we taken in a very long time!
