Harper's Newborn session - Interview with Mom - Beautiful Newborn Session - Topeka Newborn Photographer


We welcomed Miss Harper and her family to the studio for her newborn session and she did awesome!  We were able to really get some great pictures of her, and she looked just like an angel in many of her poses.  I could tell Harper is so loved by her mom and dad, and they loved watching her session. We always enjoy when families come and partake in the session.  Thank you for checking out this little doll’s session and enjoy!!
T.H. Peterson:  How did you feel when you found out you were pregnant with Harper?   

Angie:  Excited to add another addition to our family and for Manny to become a dad.  He already is a step dad to my two other boys but he wanted to have a child of his own.

T.H.P:  How are you and your family adjusting to your new addition?Angie: We are adjusting well.  We have developed a routine so we get our rest and are able to attend all the older kids events as well.


T.H.P:   Did you have any unique experiences during your pregnancy or labor and delivery?
Angie:  I broke my leg at 5 weeks pregnant with Harper that required me to not be able to walk for 4 months.  After 4 months I had to relearn how to walk and move my ankle again. It was a miracle she survived after having to go through surgery at 5 weeks pregnant but she is a fighter.


T.H.P:   How did you choose the name Harper?
Angie:  My husband and two sons chose the name at dinner one night.  We wanted it to be a family decision and we all agreed on the name as soon as we heard it said with her middle and last name.



T.H. P: Describe her in one word:

Angie: Precious.

Now this was a special session! It's not often we photograph multiples for newborn sessions but these little girls were just perfect and despite them being born several months ago, because they were so premature they photographed just like brand new newborns! We had the most absolutely perfect day for the Popkess family's spring session at Ward Meade. Sadly the tulips are all gone however the lush greenery made a perfect backdrop anywhere we posed this adorable family! How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting.  Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th

What a handsome little guy! I loved photographing Declan and his session was just perfect! I especially loved capturing the details like his spikey hair. Totally adorable! Hanna, who is a long time client, has recently begun helping us with newborns and it's been a huge blessing not only to our business but to her as well as she has had an opportunity to grow as a photographer herself and practice on getting better at wrapping and posing babies. What a sweet baby! We had a wonderful time with Kayson and his mom and dad. They are so proud of him and you can tell they are going to raise him right and give him lots of love his whole life. Cove was the sweetest little girl. She was so mellow and easy to photograph. She was just the cutest baby. During our first moments together, she just stared at me and was so calm, I couldn’t have fallen more in love.  T.H. P.: How did you come up with her name? Sierra: Her big brothers name is Cash, so I knew I wanted another one syllable name. When I stumbled upon Cove and said the names together, it was an instant yes. She’s already gotten the nickname of Coco as well, which is so cute.  T.H. P.: What is life like with a new baby in the house?
