Abel's newborn session - Interview with mom and dad- Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

 We had a great time with the Parman family, and welcomed their latest edition, Abel in for his newborn shoot.  It was quite the experience for us since thirty minutes into his shoot the storm hit and our power went out.  We shot the rest of his shoot in the dark!  After a few minutes of creative thinking, we used a battery pack to turn on a lamp and then used the model light on the flash to finish the shoot!  We got some adorable images of Abel with his brothers and sister!! Seriously these were some of the cutest kids that we have ever shot and we are so happy with their pictures, and we love how they stuck it out with us even though the power went out. T.H. Peterson:  How did you find out you were pregnant? Was it a shock or expected?
Kylee -   We had just moved into our new house and I (Kylee) had no energy to “move in” and just wanted to sleep. Finding out we were pregnant was a surprise as we planned to try after we had settled in.
 T.H. P.:   How did your other children react to seeing Abel for the first time?
Kylee -   Ellery said he was “cutie wootie” and they all loved him very much.
T.H. P.:   What kind of food did you crave when you were pregnant?  What foods did you avoid?
Kylee -  I didn’t really have cravings, but preferred cold food and got full quickly.
T.H. P.:   What was your favorite part about your newborn session with us?  
Kylee -  Casey, “We didn’t feel rushed and there was no pressure on us. We just handed Abel over and they did all the work.”
Kylee, “I love the time and care they took with Abel to make sure he was comfortable. I also loved that the family was able to be included.”

 T.H. P.:   What was the first thing you thought when you saw Abel?
Kylee -  Kylee’s first thought, “He looks just like his big brother Gabriel, but I could see all my kids in him”  Casey’s first thought, “I can’t believe it’s another boy and he’s huge!”

Oh Skylar! A beautiful baby with thick black hair and an adorable presence, stole our hearts with her funny expressions and cooperative demeanor during our photography session with her. I was so excited to photograph Larae as she is the beautiful baby of a very long time client, like probably 15-20 years. So this was a very special occasion that I wanted to make sure was absolutely perfect and it was! Larae is just precious and such a chill baby! How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting.  Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th
