Interview with Alli Moore - Lebo High Class of 2022 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

We have been photographing Alli and her family for about 5 years now so we were really excited to take her senior pics!  She instantly put us in a fabulous mood because she is so bubbly and happy with a bright smile and cheery disposition!  She joked with us, and smiled the entire time!  We gave her the “Personality of the Year” award!  She is such a joy to be around!  We are so very happy to share her stellar session with you!  Enjoy!

T.H. Peterson: What are you looking forward to the most your Senior Year? :
Alli: My last year of basketball with my favorite team. We have big goals this year with all of our new freshmen coming up!

T.H. P.: What do you like to do for fun?
Alli: I definitely can say I am a big shopper. My girls at Buckle now have my phone number memorized...However, spending time with my "chosen family" is definitely my favorite thing. We are a crazy bunch!

T.H. P.:  What movie from your childhood do you watch now and relate to the most?

Alli: Definitely 13 Going on 30. I find myself constantly wanting to grow up, but I have to remind myself that being present and living in the moment is what is going to make me the happiest in the end!

T.H. P.: If your friends had to describe you in one single word, what would they say?

Alli: Witty. I definitely keep the party alive, whether I choose to or not!

T.H. P.: What song on the radio right now are you obsessed with? And which one annoys you to no end?

Alli: I am absolutely obsessed with Carly Pearce's "Next Girl" right now. GIRLS! Listen! However, the song that annoys me the MOST right now is "Astronaut in the Ocean." Clever, but like...what?

T.H. P.: What is your secret power? :
Alli: I can definitely feel negativity when I am around it!
Negative Nancy's definitely are not for me. Radiate positivity, people!    
T.H. P.: What language would you like to speak fluently if you could? :
Alli: Vietnamese! I have a hunch the ladies at the nail salon talk major crap on my fingernails and toenails... On a real note though, I would love to learn how to speak Spanish. Especially with intentions to go into the medical field!
T.H. P.: What activities are you involved in?
Alli: I am involved in volleyball and basketball. Big goals this year with both, cannot wait to see what we accomplish!
T.H. P.: What was your favorite part of your session with us?
Alli: Feeling fully comfortable to be myself. I am definitely a hot mess and Tommy and Jesse laughed right along with me the whole time! From climbing into dumpsters to rolling around in the grass, I have never felt more beautiful and lively! 
T.H. P.: What are your plans for after high school? :
Alli: First, I plan to attend ESU to earn my Bachelor's of Science in Art Therapy. After that, my main goal is to attend Occupational Therapy at KU to become a certified Occupational Therapist!

Interview with Ty Steffens - Burlington High Class of 2025 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Photographing Ty was a blast, he had such a laid back personality and was really easy to pose and direct. Lots of times senior boys take a while to get comfortable and into the shoot, Ty was having fun from the beginning! We took some on the golf course, out by the dam and we ended at Jade Seed and Outdoor Supply. That actually ended up being one of my favorite parts of the whole shoot. It was a ton of fun! Madison was such a blast to photograph! She’s super fun and full of energy, and her smile made every picture look amazing. We started her session downtown, then went to Ward-Meade Park, and ended near the Governor's Mansion at sunset. The golden hour lighting was so pretty, and it made her photos look magical. A proud Taylor Swift fan, Madison wanted to incorporate her love for the iconic artist into the session.  She made the whole session so fun, and I’m so happy with how the pictures came out. Interview with Zach Oswald - Lebo High Class of 2025 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

I had the pleasure of photographing Zach, a senior from Lebo, Kansas, Class of 2025. We split his session into two parts to capture everything that makes him unique. The first session was all about his sports and some fun shots downtown. For the second, we headed to a gorgeous country property just outside of Lebo, and it couldn’t have been a better setting. The fall colors during the second session were absolutely stunning, making every photo feel warm and vibrant. How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown ...

Last week, I had the chance to photograph Haley, and it was such a fun experience! Haley is super cute and has a great personality that made the session so easy and enjoyable. We started at the Topeka Zoo, where she had a really special moment with the giraffes. Haley is passionate about giraffes, and she even got to feed them, which made for some amazing and unique photos. You could tell how much she loves them, and it was awesome to capture that connection on camera. After the zoo, we headed to the golf course for some more photos. Golf is another big part of Haley's life, and it’s something she’s been doing for a long time. She’s really good at it too! Interview with Lauryn Gilfillan - Seaman High Class of 2025 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Lauryn is one of the coolest seniors I’ve ever met. From the moment we started her session, I could tell she was completely herself—funny, creative, and so much fun to be around. We started downtown in Topeka, and she even brought a Funko Pop of herself, which made for some awesome and unique pictures. I wanted to make sure I captured her personality because she’s so colorful and full of life, and I think we nailed it! We also took pictures at the Cyrus Hotel, where she totally rocked the modern and classy vibe. After that, we ended at the Capitol, and the photos there turned out absolutely beautiful. Molly was amazing to photograph! She’s a senior at Washburn Rural High School, Class of 2025, and she was so beautiful and natural in front of the camera. We started her session with some fall portraits at sunset, and the colors were just perfect. The golden light made everything look magical, and Molly’s smile made every photo stand out. She was super easygoing, which made the session so much fun. After sunset, we headed downtown to Topeka for some cool nighttime shots. We ended up on top of a parking garage that had an awesome view of the city skyline. The lights of the city in the background made the photos look incredible. We took some at the weight room at Washburn where we had a great time capturing his passion for powerlifting and then some with his motorcycle and out at their property with his dirt bike and just getting some incredible sunset images. Leslie and Kevin tie the knot! Louisiana / Kansas Wedding Photographers

Recently I had the honor of photographing my cousin Leslie on her and Kevin's big day! It was so good to see family and friends that I rarely get to see. Basically only when I go down to visit. Normally, I don't post more than thirty pictures or so for a wedding, but I thought it would be nice to show more of the full story.
