Interview with Hannah Sixkiller - Shawnee Heights Class of 2023 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits


 This is a session I was really looking forward to. She was a great model and was a lot of fun to hang out with. We photographed everything that was important to her. We started downtown and photographed soccer images then we headed down to Forbes Air Field and photographed in front of some of their planes as she plans to join the Air Force after she graduates. We then headed down to her elementary school and got some great images in front of the school. It was a last minute decision but we also went to the carnival in town and got some really fun night time shots of her surrounded by all the colors of the fair. I absolutely love how her session turned out! Thanks for checking it out and tell us your favorite!


T.H. Peterson: What are you looking forward to most your senior year?
Hannah: Wrestling season.


T.H. P.: What are your plans after high school?
Hannah:  I’m going into the Airforce and then to college. 
T.H. P.: Describe a fun time with your mom and dad. 
Hannah: I love just vegging out in the living room watching movies together
T.H. P.:  How did you get into soccer and what do you enjoy most about it?
Hannah:  I was put in it when I was five but I love it because it’s a team sport. 
T.H. P.: What's the worst injury you've had playing soccer? 
Hannah: I got a concussion saving a shot on goal in our championship game at Gov Cup. 
T.H. P.: What did you enjoy most about your session with us? 
Hannah: It was super laid back. 
T.H. P.: Your favorite junk food. 
Hannah: Kraft Mac n Cheese.
T.H. P.: Last movie you saw. What did you think about it? 
Hannah: Dr Strange in the multiverse of madness and it was really good. 
T.H. P.: Name a time you laughed so hard it hurt. 
Hannah: My best friend Lynde and I were coming back from a Sporting game around midnight and decided it would be a fun idea to go off-roading….it was a fun time. 
T.H. P.: Where would you like to visit on vacation. 
Hannah: Disney World - I’ve been twice already but I absolutely love it.

Now this was a special session! It's not often we photograph multiples for newborn sessions but these little girls were just perfect and despite them being born several months ago, because they were so premature they photographed just like brand new newborns! Recently, we photographed Sarah, my assistant (of many years) she’s incredible! Always professional, friendly and fun to be around. I asked her to do a write up for her blog post. Here’s what she wrote: My first experience with T.H. Peterson Photography was 8 years ago. I saw an add for his spring mini sessions and thought it would be a perfect fit for my husband (who hates photos) and my four small kids. How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting.  Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th

Tracer's newborn session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

Tracer was such a sweet baby! I remember almost immediately when we started the session, he was comfortable and ready to be posed. Usually it takes a min to get them settled but he was a very good baby. I mean just look at that smile. He smiled almost right at the beginning and he was just a blast to photograph! Mr Walter is such a precious little baby! We had a great time posing him and working with him. He has such a sweet face. It was really special creating these images for mom and dad and also being able to incorporate them into the session. Sawyer is a CUTE kid! He was so chill and photographing him was a blast. I love the portraits we got of him and the images with mom and dad are super special! Interview with Deacon Crumpton - SFT Class of 2024 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Deacon was fun to hang out with. He is very photogenic and capturing his personality and energy was a blast. We had such a great evening to get these images of him. And even though we took these pretty much in the dead of winter, you'd really never know. The temps were great and the trees looked incredible in the glow of the setting sun. It was such a great session to document this special time in Deacon's life. I admire him and know he'll do great things in life. His discipline and positive outlook will guide him in the future!
