Silas's Newborn Session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Newborn Photographers

Look at this handsome little face! Mr Silas did amazing. He was the perfect little model and photographing him and his family was such a joy! One thing that stuck out to me was they wanted a pose with the Bible. Such a sweet idea that turned out even better than we had hoped. It was a great session overall and I am just so happy with how the whole session turned out. Thanks for checking out their blog post, enjoy!

T.H. Peterson: How did you find out you were pregnant? 

Kelsey: We had been trying and I was a couple days late and took a

test and it was positive!

T.H. P.: Did you have aversions to any foods or certain cravings?

Kelsey: First trimester I could hardly ever eat any meat so I was trying any way I could to eat some sort of protein. I ended up eating lots of peanut butter and yogurt.

T.H. P.: How did you come up with the name Silas?

Kelsey: We struggled to decide on the name almost until the day he was born. Silas was a name from the Bible we really loved and ended up officially agreeing on the day he was born.

T.H. P.: What are your hopes and dreams for him?

Kelsey: Our greatest hope for him is that he grows up to love God and know Jesus as his savior.

T.H. P.: What is something you enjoyed about your session with us? Kelsey: We loved how professional and kind you both were in the process of taking the pictures!

I had so much fun photographing Brody and Kiera, a pair of high school siblings who came to the studio for a just-for-fun session! Their bond was easy to see, laughing and teasing. They brought such a natural vibe to every shot. I love sessions like this that capture the joy of family without needing a special occasion. We also brought their hobbies into the session to show off their personalities. Kiera, a talented ballet dancer, posed with grace, while Brody, a baseball player, brought his sporty style. Luciana's Newborn Session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

Erika and Brad are the sweetest family, and I loved photographing their newborn session. Their new baby, Luciana, has so much hair that I joked it looked like a wig! Her big sister, Addy, wasn’t too interested in the session, but we still managed to capture some really sweet moments of them together. Even though this was a quick session, we got some beautiful images of their little family. Newborn sessions are always special, but there’s something extra sweet about capturing those early days with a new baby. Luciana was so peaceful, and her tiny features were just perfect. Azaria’s senior session was one to remember! We braved the freezing cold, with snow covering the ground, to capture her love for softball. The golden hour sunset added a warm glow, making the field look magical. She brought along softball shirts from childhood and past teams, a special touch that told the story of her journey. Despite the cold, Azaria did amazing, smiling through every shot and showcasing her passion for the game. Her confidence and determination shone through, creating beautiful and meaningful photos. How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown ...

Meet sweet baby Amelia! She was an absolute dream during her newborn session—so smiley and full of sweetness. She slept soundly, letting us gently pose her, and was the perfect little model. Welcoming baby Crew into the world was such a joy! This newborn session was all about capturing the love this family shares, and Crew was absolutely adorable.
