Matt and Lena's Engagement Session - Osage County Fishing Lake - Topeka's Best Engagement Photographers

This was a very exciting session for me. Matt and I met many years ago and I trained him at Olan Mills when we were much younger lol. Ever since then we have been friends and he then came to work for me shooting weddings and assisting on sessions. Fast forward, he became a paramedic and now lives in Wichita. He was blessed with an opportunity to work as a paramedic at Yellowstone. How amazing! And there he met Lena, who was also working as a paramedic there. Photographing this session for them was so much fun and it was so good to see Matt so happy, thoroughly. He and Lena were silly with each other and so playful and the chemistry is real. Very beautiful. I am so happy for them and it was great to meet Lena, she's such a nice and lovely person. I'm excited to travel to Grand Teton National Park for their wedding. It will be not only incredibly beautiful and scenic but a wonderful occasion to celebrate with Matt and Lena. Here's some of my favorites!

Now this was a special session! It's not often we photograph multiples for newborn sessions but these little girls were just perfect and despite them being born several months ago, because they were so premature they photographed just like brand new newborns! I was so excited to photograph Larae as she is the beautiful baby of a very long time client, like probably 15-20 years. Oh Skylar! A beautiful baby with thick black hair and an adorable presence, stole our hearts with her funny expressions and cooperative demeanor during our photography session with her. How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting.  Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th
