Interview with Alayna Hooper - Washburn Rural Class of 2025 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

I am so excited to share Alayna's senior shoot! She is beautiful and her session was just perfect! We took these in Manhattan and the whole session happened because Alayna saw the sunset at the overlook just north of Manhattan and knew that she had to have her session there! I am thrilled with that choice because her session was perfection! I don't get to shoot in Manhattan often and it's such a great place full of beautiful and amazing backdrops! A town I really love! Here are some of my favorite images from her session! Enjoy!

T.H. Peterson: What are your plans after high school? 

Alayna: I want to either go to KU or K-State and be an English major.

T.H. P.: What classes are you enjoying this year? 

Alayna: My favorite classes this year are criminal justice 2 and AP Literature.

T.H. P.: What is your dream job? 

Alayna: My dream job is to be a college professor teaching either philosophy or ethics.

T.H. P.: What would people be surprised to learn about you? 

Alayna: I love interior design.

T.H. P.: What is something you liked about your session with us? 

Alayna: I loved the locations we went to.

T.H. P.: What makes you feel confident? 

Alayna: Having a tan.

T.H. P.: What do you do or think when you first wake up? 

Alayna: I’m not sure, waking up is hard for me.

T.H. P.: Favorite outdoor activity? 

Alayna: Definitely kayaking.

T.H. P.: What tv shows do you love? 

Alayna: I like Arrested Development and Gilmore Girls.

T.H. P.: If you had to spend $1000 in a store where would you go?

Alayna: Hollister. Everything I wear is Hollister.

I really enjoyed meeting and photographing Kylee. She is so photogenic and was a natural in front of the camera! It was a beautiful morning and we started off at Gage Park in the rose garden. The perfect location for her! She is so photogenic and we got the best smiles! We then went downtown and to the capitol. How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting.  Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th

Our session with Eli was great! It was a beautiful day and we focused on his passion for flying! I think in 20+ years, this was a first for me! So much fun and what an interesting experience! I learned a lot just being there and one thing that's always fun is it is a good opportunity for the senior being photographed to talk about what they do and that helps the session and the experience! I've known Eli since he was little and so this was a great moment to be able to capture this milestone for him and his family. He's a great kid with a bright future! T.H. Raylynn Paige's Newborn Session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

What an adorable baby. On more than one occasion during our session, I heard mom say, "She's sooo cute!" I totally agree, what a beautiful tiny little human. So precious. Perfect little features and I even commented to mom that it is very common for babies to have blotchy skin or blemishes but her skin was perfect, like no flakes at all! Pretty amazing. Damien and Brianna's Big Day - Amazing Wedding at Abe and Jake's Landing - Lawrence, Kansas

In August, I had the privilege of photographing Damien and Brianna’s wedding at Abe and Jake's Landing in Lawrence, Kansas. Surrounded by their closest friends and family, the day was full of love, laughter, and so much joy. The ceremony was intimate and heartfelt, with Damien and Brianna exchanging vows in front of everyone they care about most. It was clear how much love they have for each other. After the ceremony, the reception was a blast! There was tons of dancing, laughter, and fun as everyone celebrated Damien and Brianna's big day. The energy in the room was incredible, and it was clear everyone was having an amazing time. From the first dance to the last song, the reception was packed with unforgettable moments. Overall, Damien and Brianna's wedding was absolutely beautiful, and I’m so grateful I got to capture all of it. Weston's awesome dirtbike session - Kansas Portrait Photographers

Weston's session was amazing! He is such a cool dude and the type of shoot we were doing for him was just awesome! I love these types of sessions. We photographed him doing just what he was born to do.... RIDE! We were blessed with the most amazing skies that evening and it made his session even more epic.
