Interview with Mia Mattox - Shawnee Heights Class of 2027 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits
We had such a great time photographing Mia for her senior portraits! She is a talented senior from Shawnee Heights and one of those people who is just naturally photogenic. She brought so much personality to her session with lots of beautiful smiles, great expressions, and some really amazing outfits. Her dogs joined us for part of the session, which made things even more fun. We started at Shawnee Lake and later headed downtown, finishing up around the Cyrus Hotel and the Capitol. Even though the weather wasn't ideal and we had to deal with some rain, Mia absolutely shined in every location.
One of my favorite things about this session was seeing how confident and comfortable Mia was in front of the camera. We were able to create colorful, vibrant images that really showcase both her beauty and her fun personality. As the evening went on, we captured some incredible sunset photos with the Capitol in the background that turned out amazing. Mia is not only a beautiful young lady, but she's also incredibly smart and has big plans for her future. After spending time with her and reading through her interview, it's easy to see that she's going to accomplish great things. It was an honor to photograph her senior year.
T.H. Peterson: What are your plans after high school?
Mia: Go to KU and get my pre-law done, then apply to law schools and see where I get in.
Mia: My dream job would be to be a family lawyer who owns my own firm and gets paid a lot.
T.H. P.: What kind of student are you?
Mia: I am a serious student. I prioritize my future and my grades.
T.H. P.: Favorite and least favorite classes you've had to take so far?
Mia: My favorite would be any of the Spanish classes I've taken. I really enjoyed the teachers' learning style. My least favorite class is one I'm not going to name because my teachers might find this post.
T.H. P.: Something you liked about your session with us?
Mia: My favorite thing about the session was how easy it was to feel comfortable with the photographer and the help he provided with posing. Very nice fellow.
T.H. P.: Last movie you saw, what did you think?
Mia: This is kind of basic, but Obsession. It was a 10/10, but I would not watch it again unless I hated myself.
T.H. P.: Song you could listen to every day?
Mia: Honestly, either Kevin Gates or Chris Stapleton. If I had to choose specific songs, it would be "Time for That" or "You Should Probably Leave."
T.H. P.: Favorite junk food?
Mia: Guacamole. No explanation needed.
Mia: How much I can reduce my time getting ready and still not be extremely late to wherever I'm going that day.
T.H. P.: Biggest pet peeve?
Mia: People (my dad) chewing with their mouth open. It's like nails on a chalkboard for me.
