Very excited to share Jason and MaryAnna's big day! These guys chose not to see each other before the wedding... something that believe it or not is becoming less and less common but always makes for a beautiful moment when they see each other for the first time walking down the aisle. The wedding was a beautiful ceremony and the pastor's words were filled with so much wisdom and it was an amazing ceremony to be a part of. The reception took place at the beautiful Kansas Museum and began just as the sun was falling over the horizon. Every part of their wedding day was fun to be a part of and the day was filled with so much emotion. But when the day was over, it was a day to never forget!  I love my son. There's no other better way to express what I feel but love. Moses is his name. He is six years old and only a parent could really know the feeling that you feel for your kids. I take lots of pictures of him but they always mean a lot to me and that's one of the biggest reasons why I love doing portraits for others of their children. It's something that you cherish forever. So, these were taken at the Governor's mansion in Topeka. What I love about that place is even though winter is over and the leaves were long gone, the grass has remained tall; they haven't cut it down and it has made for a perfect backdrop for many families and couples even this winter.  Normally I love color photos of beautiful light in the afternoon in a setting like this but I wanted to showcase his emotion and sometimes I think black and white is just the right avenue for that.  This morning, we had a fantastic session with Kyra! What an adorable, beautiful little girl! She is in our First Year Baby Plan and so it was great seeing her again and how much she's grown! She's beautiful and we were surprised at how smiley she was! Three month olds generally don't smile as much as she did so that made us so happy! We look forward to more sessions with her! I'd love to put all these guy's images on the blog but there are a ton! This was one of our last sessions of the fall before we really started taking all the shoots indoors.  What an awesome day! It's been a couple weeks and I'm finally done editing this beautiful country wedding. We started off at Overbrook but went to the reception out in the country. Matt and Ashley are a great couple. Super sweet and lovable and crazy about each other. So many great images. So many great moments. It really was a blast! One of my favorite parts of the wedding was the fun images we took before the reception on their new John Deere. Super cool as the sun had already gone down but the clouds still looked dramatic and eerie. I remember how windy it was, but it was really just amazing. The location of the reception was awesome and perfect for their celebration. As we've been doing recently, here are just a few shots, but to see lots more, check out the video below!!!
