Interview with J.C. Heim - Washburn Rural Class of 2024 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Image
I had such a good time hanging out with J.C. He was super photogenic and so down to earth and literally just willing to try whatever. I could tell from the short time that I was around him how genuinely nice and cordial he is. I was immediately impressed with his physique and could tell he trains hard. He made it easy to photograph him! We took some downtown, then the governor’s mansion and Kansas museum and finished off at his locker room and the field at Washburn Rural. Overall, extremely happy with his session. He is extremely photogenic and was a blast to hang out with! Good dude! T.H. Peterson: What will you miss about Washburn Rural? J.C.: I will miss the friendships and fun times during classes with my friends.  T.H. P.: Plans after highschool? J.C.: I am planning on playing college football, still undecided where.  T.H. P.: Earliest memories playing sports?   J.C.: I remember my first flag football game scoring 3 touchdowns! T.H. P.: Have you ever been injured pla...

I'm finally getting around to blogging this amazing session!! I had such a great time with Julanna and her bestie Megan! They have been friends forever and while she was in Kansas we photographed a session to celebrate a huge milestone, turning 50! She looks amazing!! She also wanted to get portraits with Megan who drove up all the way from Texas to be there for the weekend. You can tell they love each other and have such a great relationship! We did these at John Redmond Reservoir, which was the perfect location for these amazing portraits!!! Here's some of our favorites! Baylen's Newborn Session - Interview with mom - Topeka's Newborn Photographers

Image
Baylen was just precious. Such a sweet baby. I told mom and dad that his face was like a cartoon. He was just absolutely perfect and didn't even look real! I couldn't stop staring at him. Apparently he is a very chill and calm baby at home too. He did perfect for us! I was so excited to edit and share these images! He should be on a billboard! T.H. Peterson: What was your pregnancy like?  Maddy: My pregnancy was all over just a beautiful experience! I didn’t experience much morning sickness and I’d say the worst part was the acid reflux! I was lucky to have the amazing support of my fiancĂ©, our friends and our family throughout and it made my pregnancy fly by!  T.H. P.: What was your first thought when you saw Baylen? Maddy: My first thought was pure shock! He was only 6lbs 2oz and looked so tiny when they held him up over the tarp I was thinking “where’s the rest of him” haha! But all over I felt a feeling of love that is indescribable and that “it’s real” feeling kicked in !...

Interview with Dason Tidwell - Topeka West Class of 2024 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Image
I wanna tell you about this awesome senior named Dason that we got to photograph in Topeka. We started downtown in one of our favorite spots mostly because of the grungy, decomposing nature of the buildings. They make a great backdrop! Then, we went to this cool spot where he had his soccer, baseball, and bowling stuff. Like, this guy is seriously into his sports! However, it’s not just about sports. He's also super into music, and he plays the saxophone. We got some seriously cool shots of him with his sax, and it was epic. We even went to the Kansas river and caught a stunning sunset in the pics. Headed up to Wanamaker for some city lights pics – thought we were done, but wait, we remembered a bowling alley! As you probably know, Gage Bowl has these old-school signs that made the pics look amazing, and honestly, I think those were my faves. Dason's a really chill senior, super friendly and easygoing. He's also smart, nice, and loves hanging out. So yeah, that's Dason ...
