Now this was a special session! It's not often we photograph multiples for newborn sessions but these little girls were just perfect and despite them being born several months ago, because they were so premature they photographed just like brand new newborns! They were perfect! What a wonderful session and what a special story mom has to tell! T.H. Peterson: What did you think when you found out you were having twins? Taylor.: I was shocked and did not know anything about twins before being pregnant with them. I later found out identical twins are a fluke and do not run in families. It’s been been a learning experience for sure but I would not trade it for the world. T.H. P.: What did you think when you first saw them? Taylor.: Due to complication of twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome, I had the girls via c-section at 29 weeks. My first glance was brief before they were whisked away to the NICU. I remember thinking how small they were (Janie-3.6 lbs & Jovie-2.1 lbs) and how fe
We recently photographed Alexias's maternity session in our studio and it was amazing! She's beautiful and I loved her session. Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind. Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day). Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain. If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session. This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session. If it is windy, wear your hair up. Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane! Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session. For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting. Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th
Tracer was such a sweet baby! I remember almost immediately when we started the session, he was comfortable and ready to be posed. Usually it takes a min to get them settled but he was a very good baby. I mean just look at that smile. He smiled almost right at the beginning and he was just a blast to photograph! Here are a handful of our favorite images from the session. Enjoy! T.H. Peterson: What did you think when you first saw Tracer? Kaitlin: That he was just as amazing as I’d imagined! T.H. P.: How did you guys come up with his name? Kaitlin: His father came up with it! T.H. P.: What was your pregnancy like? Any food cravings or aversions? Kaitlin: My pregnancy was wonderful, especially feeling his little movements, lots of fruit cravings! T.H. P.: What is something you liked about your session with us? Kaitlin: I loved your creativity! The different outfits to put him in and the outfits were too precious! And the little couch was perfect! T.H. P.: Who does Tracer look like? Kait
Sawyer is a CUTE kid! He was so chill and photographing him was a blast. I love the portraits we got of him and the images with mom and dad are super special! He even gave us a smile right at the start! Even as a newborn you can see he's got lots of personality! T.H. Peterson: What did you think when you first saw Sawyer? Jill: I was just so happy and excited that he was finally here. It felt so unreal! T.H. P.: How did you come up with his name? Jill: We struggled at first trying to find ones we both liked. We wanted something different, but not weird and we both liked Sawyer! For his middle names, we both liked Ellis and thought it went well with Sawyer, and Wayne after my dad who passed in 2012. T.H. P.: Something you liked about your session with us? I loved how good you guys Jill: were with him. As a first time parent, it’s a little nerve racking to hand your baby over to people, but you guys did amazing! T.H. P.: What is life like adjusting to a new baby? Jill: It’s definit
What a beautiful baby boy and it was great to have his whole family right there with him as we did this session. These are some of our favorites! Enjoy! T.H. Peterson: What did you think when you first saw Diego? Destrie: I thought he was so cute and was also in total shock because I just had another baby! T.H. P.: How did you come up with his name? Destrie: I have always loved the name Diego, and so I knew when I had a second boy he would have that name. T.H. P.: What does big bro think? Destrie: His brother is in total awe of him. Always checking on him and making sure to say “what mister” anytime he cries. T.H. P.: What is something you liked about your session with us? Destrie: Took the time to let him calm down and then got right back into it as soon as he was ready! T.H. P.: Who does he look like? Destrie: Everyone says he looks like his dad, and I’d have to agree! To book your own session, please call Tommy or Holly at 785.793.2492 or 785.213.0812 or email tommy@thpetersonpho

Hanna, who is a long time client, has recently begun helping us with newborns and it's been a huge blessing not only to our business but to her as well as she has had an opportunity to grow as a photographer herself and practice on getting better at wrapping and posing babies. She is growing by leaps and bounds and I am so thankful to have her on our team! She's someone I always appreciate having around! We photographed a session with her littles and I asked her to write about her session with us and here's what shes said: From our first session with T.H. Peterson we fell in love. The results were and are breath taking, but the entire experience is why we continue coming back. This session we wanted to capture our sons first birthday as well as our daughters third. We also wanted to recreate some really special images from our daughters previouse sessions. Tommy never fails to capture those perfect moments in between the wiggles and shakes of our children and it's a

He was so peaceful and cute. So much fun! Thanks for checking out Declan's session and make sure to check out mom's interview! T.H. Peterson: What did you think when you first saw Declan? Elizabeth: How glad I was that it was all over and how perfect he was for being 3 weeks early. T.H. P.: How did you come up with his name? Elizabeth: Mom heard it and it was between Declan and Cooper up until the day after he was born and Daddy changed his mind last minute and went with mom’s choice. T.H. P.: Who does he look like? Elizabeth: He looks like his Daddy for sure! He is also his big sister’s copy. T.H. P.: What is something you liked about your session with us? Elizabeth: Tommy and his assistant were very patient and accommodating with working with a newborn and a nervous mother. They also had a great variety
What a sweet baby! We had a wonderful time with Kayson and his mom and dad. They are so proud of him and you can tell they are going to raise him right and give him lots of love his whole life. He is a beautiful baby and I am so thankful for the session we got to create for him. Enjoy! T.H. Peterson: What did you think when you first saw Kayson? Jaymee: When we first saw him we thought what an absolute blessing he was and then look at all that hair! T.H. P.: How did you come up with his name? Jaymee: It's a name that's not heard very often that we could spell a unique way. T.H. P.: Who does he look like? Jaymee: For sure his dad. T.H. P.: What is something you liked about your session with us? Jaymee: Loved that you guys went at Kayson's pace and the way you took care of him. T.H.
