Last night we went out to have fun and do a nighttime shoot in Lawrence, preferably somewhere downtown on Mass St or somewhere close to really get some of the lights in the background. However, as we were getting started a few snowflakes hit us in the face. My first reaction was that our shoot was going to be ruined, however as any photographer knows, photography is a game of problem solving. After a few minutes we figured out exactly what to do to make the snow actually work in our favor. The cool thing is I've always wanted to photograph people in the snow but it's such an unpredictable thing that in 13 years of shooting we've never done it! Can you believe this is the first time?! Pretty unbelievable. I have a new interest! Shooting in the snow! It was a lot of fun, yes my thumbs and toes froze but looking back at these, it was totally worth it!
Samantha was a trooper. She's tiny and she was freezing but she said she was down for whatever it took to make an amazing picture. I like her attitude!
I'll be honest, if you want photos like this and you know it's gonna snow and you can go last minute, give us a call, if we are free, I'm totally willing to go out last minute to do portraits like this of you!

We had the opportunity to photograph Kevin and Vickie Hennes’ wedding at the Mater Dei Catholic Church in Topeka and it was a beautiful wedding! The church set the stage with the huge pillars, the woodwork, and the traditional catholic ceremony. But the best part was the bride and groom, they were so happy and they smiled the entire time!! We had such a great time photographing them, and especially during the reception at The Foundry. They danced all night long!! It was so incredible to watch them all laughing, and cutting up on the dance floor. What an amazing day for the beautiful couple and their guests. Congratulations Kevin and Vickie! We wish you many years of happiness to come! This is always one of our favorite things we put together, the video. Lots of highlights from their big day with tons of video clips that show behind the scenes of their special celebration!! Turn the lights low, turn up the sound and enjoy! As photographers, we are essentially problem solvers. Savannah’s senior session posed one problem that we needed to overcome and that was the very strong winds! But she made it so easy with her amazing smile, her positive attitude, and her fun personality. We got some amazing images of Savannah at B&C Equine, and then Eleanor’s Events and she really wowed us with how bright her personality is! When she smiles, she lights up the entire room! We are so excited to share these with you! Thank you! T.H. Peterson: How have your goals changed since you started as a freshman to now? Savannah: My freshman year I had actually no idea what I wanted to do, I started out wanting to study agriculture, but later decided that I was going to go to nursing school. T.H. P.: If you could take a dream vacation anywhere with anyone, where would you go and who would you take with you? Savannah: My dream vacation, I couldn’t pick just one place I’d love to travel them all, I would either take my b
Okay so where do I start? Natalie was such a special young lady. Her shoot was beautiful and perfect but I realized when we were done just how impressive Natalie is. As you'll read in this interview she said a movie she saw recently was "adorable and inspiring" and I laughed because that's exactly how I would describe Natalie! She is down to earth and confident and humble and smart and beautiful! She has a bright future for sure!! So excited to share her session. We did these on her property for the most part and I absolutely loved every part of her shoot! Enjoy! T.H. Peterson: What are you most excited about for your senior year? Natalie: I am most excited about cheering at football games with my Cheer team and competing at State cheer! T.H. P.: What are your plans after high school? Natalie: During my senior year I am attending Washburn Tech Cosmetology program. I would also love to build my own wedding venue some day and prepare the bride for her special day!
