Happy 1st Birthday Olympas! Personal Blog post - Opening presents, Birthday cake and a Chipotle Burrito smash!
Our baby boy turned one today. It was a crazy thought just thinking about how a year ago he was born. Doesn't seem possible. This year has flown by for us. We're so thankful for our sons and today we decided to celebrate his birthday all day long. So here are some highlights from the day.
To start Moses and I blew up a bunch of balloons and filled his playpen. He was in for quite the surprise when he jumped in. He was tackling the balloons and flying over them trying to hug them all.
Then we ate breakfast. For breakfast he had oatmeal.
He tried to feed Mo.
All done!
Then it was time to open up his presents. Yay!! He just looked at the packages and turned them over. He didn't really get that he had to open them up. Mo had to help him finally to tear off the paper.
His first present was a homemade rattle made out of a powerade bottle and some legos. He loved it. He immediately began shaking it.
You hear people say that babies like boxes more than the toy inside. Olympas liked the wrapping paper the most!
Moses shows Olympas how to put together his brand new puzzles.
Ally enjoys the scene from the couch.
Limpy's birthday cake was homemade. Angel food cake, whipped cream and sprinkles.
He liked the way his cake looked probably more than the taste. He even liked the backdrop we put up for him.
When he woke up from his nap, he wrestled with Mo and mama.
He didn't seemed too thrilled to be photographed with me.
So tonight we decided since he didn't really tear into his cake to do a burrito smash that we got from Chipotle. He loves Chipotle afterall so we thought he'd tear into it.... he did.
One bite and he was super excited.
Oh yeah!
Then it was time to share with Mo.
Olympas is learning to use a sippy cup.
Going all in.
Had Moses rolling.
This was the best day of Olympas's life. He told me.
Literally, I think he ate about half of that burrito.
The joy of guac and black beans can't be beat.
Since he didn't do great on the cake, we decided to get him a hostess cup cake. He loved it.
Today was a very special day. We are so thankful for Olympas and hope he has many more healthy happy years. He is sleeping now. Deep sleep. He played hard today!
