 Thanks for taking time out to check out Cason's session. It's part of our First Year Baby Plan which means we photographed him at 3 months, 6 months, 9 and 12 months. He did great. Layton was such a beautiful baby, and she gave us the sweetest little expressions throughout the whole session. John and April's beautiful day! Incredible Wedding Celebration at Liquid Art Winery - Manhattan, KS

John and April’s wedding at Liquid Art Winery was something special from start to finish. Set against rolling hills and the vineyard, the whole day had this calm, beautiful feel to it. It was cloudy in the best way—soft light, perfect for photos, and just an all-around ideal day for a wedding. Then right at the end of the night, the sun came out and gave us the most gorgeous golden light to wrap everything up. What stood out most was just how loved John and April are. You could feel it in every moment—friends and family showing up big for them, celebrating them, and surrounding them with so much support. Every detail of the day was dialed in. The food was incredible—brisket, salad, veggies—all so good. They even brought in local small businesses for cookies and ice cream, which was such a fun and thoughtful touch. Photographing Kate and Adam’s wedding was such a special experience. What was supposed to be a gray, rainy day turned into beautiful sunshine, and it honestly felt like everything just came together perfectly. Their venue had this warm, welcoming feel, and you could tell right away that this wasn’t just a wedding—it felt like a big family reunion. So many loved ones had traveled in, and the support from their family was obvious in every moment. The speeches were great, the father of the bride was so happy, and there were so many genuine smiles and happy tears throughout the day. Kate and Adam were an absolute joy to work with.   Grady was such a sweet little guy, and he had a full head of hair that just made him even more adorable. His two big sisters were completely in love with him, and it showed in every photo. They were so gentle and sweet, and honestly, I was really impressed with how interested and cooperative they were during the session. Avery and Jeremiah’s engagement session at the Kansas Museum was such a great evening. The sun was out, and there was this soft haze in the sky that made everything feel extra warm and beautiful. It was one of those nights where the light just works perfectly, and it made their photos feel even more special. I’ve had the chance to photograph them before, and it was just as fun this time around. These two are so easy to photograph because they genuinely enjoy being around each other. Tobias was seriously one of the sweetest little babies we’ve ever photographed. He had the cutest little face and the calmest personality, which made the whole session feel really special. Mom and dad were there soaking in every moment, and Grandma came along too—completely in love with her new grandson. You could just feel how much this little guy is already adored. Tobias was a perfect little model the entire time, giving us the sweetest smirks and tiny expressions that made it hard to put the camera down. They also brought along his older cousin, who’s still just a toddler, and getting photos of the two of them together was such a fun part of the session. Bre and Trent Engagement Session - Osage Osage County Fishing Lake - Topeka's Best Engagement and Wedding Photographers

Bree and Trent’s engagement session was just one of those shoots that reminds me why I love what I do. We started things off in the studio, keeping it clean and simple with a seamless backdrop so all the focus stayed right on them. Right away, you could see how natural they are together—lots of laughs, easy smiles, and just that genuine connection you can’t fake. After that, we headed out to Osage Lake near the studio, and man… we could not have asked for a better day. How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown ...

Meeting Tate was just the sweetest. He came in with a full, beautiful head of blonde hair and the tiniest little features, making all kinds of adorable faces the whole time. He was calm and snuggly, and the session felt so easygoing from start to finish. You could just feel how much Mom and Dad adore him—there was so much love in every little moment, and it made capturing these images feel really special. Big brother was a huge fan right from the start. He was so proud, giving Tate hugs and kisses and wanting to be close to him the whole time.
