Interview with Megan Huffman - Topeka West Class of 2021 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Megan’s session was great! She was an awesome model and gave me a great variety of expressions. I loved her outfits and her personality. A little on the quirky side but I felt very comfortable hanging out with her and photographing her. She actually reminded me a lot of my wife. She is a very nice young lady and I was thankful for the opportunity to photograph her. She has a beautiful smile and gorgeous eyes. They really shined bright in her photos and I just love the images where they are showcased. Megan’s session took us to Gage Park and Shawnee Lake where we were able to get beautiful variety and a picture perfect sunset. All in all, I couldn’t have asked for a better session. Megan rocked it. Truly.
T.H. Peterson: Plans after graduation ? 

Megan: Going to college and schooling for 8 or more years so I can pursue my dream of being an orthodontist. 

T.H. P.: What do you enjoy most about cheerleading? 
Megan: Cheering at the football and basketball games and making new friends along the way. 
T.H. P.: Biggest pet peeve?
Megan: Talking super loud and being annoying for no reason or repeating things.
T.H. P.: What is your secret power ? 
Megan: Being the funniest person in my family. 
T.H. P.: What language would you like to speak fluently if you could? 
Megan: I would say Spanish but I already took that for 3 years in high school and I don’t really remember much so I would love to speak German fluently. 
T.H. P.: Spend the day with any celebrity who would it be and what would you do? 
Megan: Danny Duncan. I don’t know because he does so much stuff everyday but just have fun. 

T.H. P.: What is your favorite song right now? 
Megan: Let me love you by Mario or Popstar by DJ Khaled
T.H. P.: What is one piece of advice you want to give to incoming freshman? 
Megan: Don’t be scared to step out of your comfort zone and get involved with sports and activities. 4 years will fly by. 
T.H. P.: What is your favorite part of the session with us? 
Megan: Overall it was super fun because of how easy it was to take pictures with such great people, but I would say ending the session by the lake with the sunset.

Oh Skylar! A beautiful baby with thick black hair and an adorable presence, stole our hearts with her funny expressions and cooperative demeanor during our photography session with her. From fun poses to riding a unicorn, Skylar made every moment memorable. She is just so cute! She radiates joy and sweetness! T.H. Peterson: What did you think when you first saw Skylar? Madi: When I first saw Skylar I couldn’t believe how big she was and how much hair she had. T.H. P.: How did you come up with her name? Madi: It took us a long time to find a name we both liked. I was so excited to photograph Larae as she is the beautiful baby of a very long time client, like probably 15-20 years. So this was a very special occasion that I wanted to make sure was absolutely perfect and it was! Larae is just precious and such a chill baby! How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting.  Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th
