JT and Jessica Thompson's Wedding - Willow's Bend - Topeka's Best Wedding Photographers


Jessica, JT and their precious little girl, Willow, are one of our favorite families ever!  We have been photographing them for a while, and we knew their wedding was going to be the most epic event of 2021!  We were right!  They had so much fun, and so did we!  The venue was perfect, the couple looked absolutely stunning!  And we laughed so much, our faces were sore the next day!  The weather was windy, but the sunset was almost as beautiful as the bride!  What a fun day!  Cheers to Jessica and JT and may they have many more years of laughs, lots of love, and happy lives together!

Sweet little Wyatt was in the studio for his newborn session, and what a joy he was to photograph. Mom told me he weighed over nine pounds at birth, and he was definitely a chunk! John and April's beautiful day! Incredible Wedding Celebration at Liquid Art Winery - Manhattan, KS

John and April’s wedding at Liquid Art Winery was something special from start to finish. Set against rolling hills and the vineyard, the whole day had this calm, beautiful feel to it. It was cloudy in the best way—soft light, perfect for photos, and just an all-around ideal day for a wedding. Then right at the end of the night, the sun came out and gave us the most gorgeous golden light to wrap everything up. What stood out most was just how loved John and April are. You could feel it in every moment—friends and family showing up big for them, celebrating them, and surrounding them with so much support. Every detail of the day was dialed in. The food was incredible—brisket, salad, veggies—all so good. They even brought in local small businesses for cookies and ice cream, which was such a fun and thoughtful touch. Interview with Sadie Craig - West Franklin High School Class of 2027 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Senior sessions like Sadie's are the ones that really get my creative side going. She has such a unique style, and from the moment she showed me examples of the kinds of photos she loved, I knew this wasn't going to be a typical senior session. She was drawn to dramatic, cinematic, and darker images, and I couldn't wait to bring those ideas to life. Of course, we made sure to capture the classic smiling portraits everyone loves, but some of my favorite images from her session were the ones where we pushed ourselves creatively with dramatic lighting, movement, interesting posing, and a little bit of artistic storytelling. Those are the sessions that remind me why I love what I do. We had a great time photographing Juan from Highland Park High School for his senior portraits. We started at the Capitol and got some really nice photos around the grounds before heading over to the Governor's Mansion. What made this session a little different is that we photographed everything right in the middle of the day. Normally, we like to include some country locations closer to sunset, but the light worked out beautifully and we were able to create some amazing images throughout the entire session. Juan was a lot of fun to photograph. He has a great personality, is very easy to talk to, and is naturally photogenic. The session seemed to fly by as we spent a lot of time talking about his plans after high school and some of the things he enjoys doing. After reading through his interview and hearing about his goals, it's easy to see that he has a solid plan for his future. We recently had the pleasure of photographing sweet little Kinslee, and what a fun session it was! Mom and Dad were so excited to capture this special time in their lives, and their joy was easy to see throughout the entire session. Kinslee was absolutely adorable and seemed to love being in front of the camera. She even gave us a few precious little smiles and smirks that made everyone in the room melt. Nate's senior session was one of those mornings that reminds us why we love what we do. We met bright and early at 6 a.m. on a beautiful family farm where we've photographed several of his cousins over the years. The sunrise could not have been more perfect, giving us amazing light and a beautiful backdrop for his photos. Nate is a student-athlete at Hayden High School, where he plays both football and golf, and he brought a great attitude to the entire session. He was easygoing, cooperative, and really got into the experience. One of my favorite things about Nate's session was seeing his personality come through in the photos. He's a sharp looking young man, and his outfits were great, especially the suit, which gave us some really classy images. Rico's senior session was such a fun one from start to finish. He is a good-looking young man with a great smile, an easygoing personality, and a laid-back attitude that made him a pleasure to photograph. We started downtown before heading to Shawnee Lake and Bettis Family Sports Complex, where we captured some photos that reflected his love of soccer. From there, we found a beautiful spot with tall grass and a country feel, and we wrapped up the evening by the water at Shawnee Lake. The variety of locations gave us so many different looks, and Rico looked great in every one of them. One of the things that stood out most during the session was how respectful Rico was and how close he is with his family. His mom joined us for the session, and it was easy to see the great connection they share. I had the best time photographing Tristan for his senior portraits. We started at Ward-Meade Park, where we had this incredible variety of backgrounds. The sun was shining, giving us a warm, golden glow. Then, we headed over to the NOTO district, and it was just bursting with color. Every corner was vibrant, and Tristan really lit up, especially when we brought his tuba into the shots. I’ve been photographing him since he was little, so it was really special to see him grow into this moment. I could tell he was having a blast, and so was I. We had such a great time photographing Emberly’s senior pictures! We started the session at Four Corners, where the rustic buildings and warm evening sunlight gave us the perfect backdrop for some amazing portraits. Emberly was a natural in front of the camera from the very beginning. Her smile came so easily, and she looked completely comfortable throughout the session. Her mom was there the whole time helping out and cheering her on, which made the experience even more fun. After that, we headed to Osage County Fishing Lake, where the skies absolutely stole the show. We photographed in the fields, along the gravel paths, and around the lake, but my favorite images came when we moved down to the water. Emberly looked beautiful standing along the shoreline and even stepping into the water for some truly unforgettable photos. The final images of the evening were especially stunning. Amber and Matt's amazing and unique day! Abe and Jake's Landing - Lawrence, KS

Amber and Matt’s wedding at Abe and Jake’s Landing in Lawrence, Kansas, was such a beautiful celebration. From the moment I arrived, it was clear how much love and respect they have for each other. The smiles, the tears, the laughter, and all the warm hugs made the day feel so full of emotion. They looked absolutely amazing, and their beautiful family added even more joy to the day. It was one of those weddings that just felt special from start to finish. One of the most unique parts of their wedding was the live cover band from Kansas City playing Talking Heads songs — such a fun and unexpected twist! I’ve never seen anything like it at a wedding, and it brought so much energy to the night. The dance floor stayed full with guests of all ages having the best time.
