Sunny Winter Family Session - The Ridgeway Family - Topeka's Best Family Photographers


We went out to a nearby farm in Scranton to photograph the Ridgeway family. The snow was covering the ground but it wasn’t cold, it was actually a perfect day!  We were surrounded by farm animals, horses, donkeys, and dogs!  We got some great portraits in front of their barn, then had a snowball fight at the pond. We ended the shoot with pictures of their Great Pyrenees puppies. It was a really fun shoot!!  Thanks for checking it out!

Sweet little Wyatt was in the studio for his newborn session, and what a joy he was to photograph. Mom told me he weighed over nine pounds at birth, and he was definitely a chunk! Interview with Mia Mattox - Shawnee Heights Class of 2027 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

We had such a great time photographing Mia for her senior portraits! She is a talented senior from Shawnee Heights and one of those people who is just naturally photogenic. She brought so much personality to her session with lots of beautiful smiles, great expressions, and some really amazing outfits. Her dogs joined us for part of the session, which made things even more fun. We started at Shawnee Lake and later headed downtown, finishing up around the Cyrus Hotel and the Capitol. Even though the weather wasn't ideal and we had to deal with some rain, Mia absolutely shined in every location. One of my favorite things about this session was seeing how confident and comfortable Mia was in front of the camera. Interview with Sadie Craig - West Franklin High School Class of 2027 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Senior sessions like Sadie's are the ones that really get my creative side going. She has such a unique style, and from the moment she showed me examples of the kinds of photos she loved, I knew this wasn't going to be a typical senior session. She was drawn to dramatic, cinematic, and darker images, and I couldn't wait to bring those ideas to life. Of course, we made sure to capture the classic smiling portraits everyone loves, but some of my favorite images from her session were the ones where we pushed ourselves creatively with dramatic lighting, movement, interesting posing, and a little bit of artistic storytelling. We had a great time photographing Juan from Highland Park High School for his senior portraits. We started at the Capitol and got some really nice photos around the grounds before heading over to the Governor's Mansion. What made this session a little different is that we photographed everything right in the middle of the day. Normally, we like to include some country locations closer to sunset, but the light worked out beautifully and we were able to create some amazing images throughout the entire session. Juan was a lot of fun to photograph. He has a great personality, is very easy to talk to, and is naturally photogenic. The session seemed to fly by as we spent a lot of time talking about his plans after high school and some of the things he enjoys doing. We recently had the pleasure of photographing sweet little Kinslee, and what a fun session it was! Mom and Dad were so excited to capture this special time in their lives, and their joy was easy to see throughout the entire session. Kinslee was absolutely adorable and seemed to love being in front of the camera. She even gave us a few precious little smiles and smirks that made everyone in the room melt. One of our favorite parts of the session was watching Mom and Dad with their baby girl. Every little thing Kinslee did brought big smiles to their faces, and it was clear how much they adore her. Hannah was so much fun to photograph for her senior session at Ward Meade Park . One of the coolest parts of the day was when she showed me a photo we had taken of her when she was little. Even though it had been years, I actually remembered photographing her, which made for a fun trip down memory lane. Hannah has a bright personality and an amazing smile, and she was incredibly photogenic from the moment we started. Her mom came along for the session too, and it was great getting to spend some time with both of them. It was a warm day, but Hannah handled it like a pro. As a dancer, she knows how to bring energy and confidence in front of the camera, and it definitely showed in her photos. She wore two great outfits during the session. I loved the white dress she started with, and some of my favorite images came from that look. Her second outfit was bright orange, which happens to be my favorite color. Nate's senior session was one of those mornings that reminds us why we love what we do. We met bright and early at 6 a.m. on a beautiful family farm where we've photographed several of his cousins over the years. The sunrise could not have been more perfect, giving us amazing light and a beautiful backdrop for his photos. Nate is a student-athlete at Hayden High School, where he plays both football and golf, and he brought a great attitude to the entire session. He was easygoing, cooperative, and really got into the experience. One of my favorite things about Nate's session was seeing his personality come through in the photos. He's a sharp looking young man, and his outfits were great, especially the suit, which gave us some really classy images. Interview with Rico Chavez - Shawnee Heights High Class of 2027 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Rico's senior session was such a fun one from start to finish. He is a good-looking young man with a great smile, an easygoing personality, and a laid-back attitude that made him a pleasure to photograph. We started downtown before heading to Shawnee Lake and Bettis Family Sports Complex, where we captured some photos that reflected his love of soccer. From there, we found a beautiful spot with tall grass and a country feel, and we wrapped up the evening by the water at Shawnee Lake. The variety of locations gave us so many different looks, and Rico looked great in every one of them. One of the things that stood out most during the session was how respectful Rico was and how close he is with his family. His mom joined us for the session, and it was easy to see the great connection they share. I had the best time photographing Tristan for his senior portraits. We started at Ward-Meade Park, where we had this incredible variety of backgrounds. The sun was shining, giving us a warm, golden glow. Then, we headed over to the NOTO district, and it was just bursting with color. Every corner was vibrant, and Tristan really lit up, especially when we brought his tuba into the shots. I’ve been photographing him since he was little, so it was really special to see him grow into this moment. I could tell he was having a blast, and so was I. Interview with Emberly Connell - Hayden High Class of 2027 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

We had such a great time photographing Emberly’s senior pictures! We started the session at Four Corners, where the rustic buildings and warm evening sunlight gave us the perfect backdrop for some amazing portraits. Emberly was a natural in front of the camera from the very beginning. Her smile came so easily, and she looked completely comfortable throughout the session. Her mom was there the whole time helping out and cheering her on, which made the experience even more fun. After that, we headed to Osage County Fishing Lake, where the skies absolutely stole the show. We photographed in the fields, along the gravel paths, and around the lake, but my favorite images came when we moved down to the water. Emberly looked beautiful standing along the shoreline and even stepping into the water for some truly unforgettable photos. The final images of the evening were especially stunning.
