T.H. Peterson: What got you into selling homes?

Chen: I found an ad on craigslist years ago looking for real estate agents to join their team of a realty company in Lawrence, so I went through the hoop and got my license, and ended up signing up with a company in Topeka.
T.H. P.: What are some misconceptions people have about buying a home or working with a realtor?

Chen: I would say, most people don't know the true value that a great professional can bring to the table, such as their experience, connections throughout the industry, connections with other professionals, such as contractors, loan officers, title companies , inspectors , and most importantly, their capabilities of ensuring a real estate deal's best outcome.

T.H. P.: What can you tell me about the Topeka market?

Chen: The Topeka market over the past couple of years, has been one of the hottest markets in the nation, with amazing amenities to offer, such as great parks, schools, and easier traffic. Also, Topeka is a town with a lot of things that are not well known to the people who are from out of town, such as Topeka has some incredibly successful companies, like AE, Walmart, Mars, Security Benefit, countless banks. famous schools, such as Washburn Law school, biz school, nursing school, these are some of the best in the nation.
T.H. P.: How can you make the process of buying or selling a home enjoyable or less stressful?

 Chen:  My approach has always been educational based. I have various systems to help clients understand every step of the process and what is gonna happen next, so they are mentally prepared for what is coming. Also, before going into selling and buying, I would take the time to listen to my clients needs, wants and their goals. We then tailor our service to make sure their expectations are met.
