Baby Navie on the blog! Interview with Mom - Topeka's Newborn Photography

Look at that smile! So adorable! Thanks for checking out Navie's session. It was a blast and she is a doll! Here's a few of our favorites along with some of mom's answers about her pregnancy and life with a new baby!

T.H. Peterson: What did you think when you found out you were pregnant?

Savannah: I was completely shocked since I had a 4 month old at the time.

T.H. P.: What is life like adjusting to a new baby?

Savannah: I would say this has been the easiest transition. 3 kids is a lot but the only thing different is no sleep.

T.H. P.: How did you come up Navie’s name? Very pretty and unique 

Savannah: I follow a lot of photography pages on FB and I just happened to come across it and we both loved it!

T.H. P.: What is something you enjoyed about your session with us?

Savannah: Getting to watch the whole process!

T.H. P.: Who does Navie look like?
Savannah: Navie looks like her big brother, Matthew most but has features similar to her sister, Adaline too!

Grace and Andrew's engagement session ended up being so beautiful! KU is truly one of the most beautiful locations in our area. I told them any angle we point the camera, the background is just gorgeous. They were so much fun to photograph. Such good subjects! And their pup Bentley (I think!) He is adorable! Interview with Lilly Miller - Rossville High Class of 2025 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Our session with Lilly was amazing! She is such a great model and looked amazing in every photo. I loved her energy and demeanor. She was laid back and very smiley and happy. It was really fun hanging out with her. Her locations were incredible and they made the perfect backdrops for her shoot. I could tell very quickly that Lilly will do very well in life. How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting.  Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th

Miss Taylor was such a joy to photograph! We were blessed to capture multiple sessions with her. She is so photogenic and sweet. I love the images that we were able to make for her. No matter where we went or what we photographed, she looked beautiful! One of my favorite spots was behind the Governor's mansion at Kaw River Park, it was the perfect backdrop for her session! Kiera's shoot was really awesome. The property we got to photograph on was so photogenic and I think was the perfect backdrop to show off her personality and passions! Malina is a great model! She came in for senior portraits and her session was just amazing! She was fun to photograph and I loved the look of her images, we took them in the middle of the day at Osage Lake and we were able to get some really rich colors and vibrant backgrounds that really complimented her outfits and mood of her session!
