Baby Navie on the blog! Interview with Mom - Topeka's Newborn Photography

Look at that smile! So adorable! Thanks for checking out Navie's session. It was a blast and she is a doll! Here's a few of our favorites along with some of mom's answers about her pregnancy and life with a new baby!

T.H. Peterson: What did you think when you found out you were pregnant?

Savannah: I was completely shocked since I had a 4 month old at the time.

T.H. P.: What is life like adjusting to a new baby?

Savannah: I would say this has been the easiest transition. 3 kids is a lot but the only thing different is no sleep.

T.H. P.: How did you come up Navie’s name? Very pretty and unique 

Savannah: I follow a lot of photography pages on FB and I just happened to come across it and we both loved it!

T.H. P.: What is something you enjoyed about your session with us?

Savannah: Getting to watch the whole process!

T.H. P.: Who does Navie look like?
Savannah: Navie looks like her big brother, Matthew most but has features similar to her sister, Adaline too!

Interview with Rylee Weber - Washburn Rural Class of 2025 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

I recently had the pleasure of photographing a stunning senior named Rylee from Washburn Rural High School. Our session began at the Kansas Capitol in downtown Topeka, where the historic architecture provided a perfect backdrop. The moment I saw her, I was in awe of her beauty. Rylee had an amazing smile that lit up every photo, and I knew her session was going to be fantastic. The weather was perfect for a summer day—sunny but not too hot, making it ideal for an outdoor shoot. After capturing some great shots downtown, we headed north of Wanamaker to Menninger's, a spot known for its picturesque views. The setting sun created a beautiful golden light that made Rylee's photos even more stunning. She looked absolutely radiant in the evening glow, and every shot captured her vibrant personality. Miss Maddox Jolene - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

Maddox is such a perfect baby! Her features are just precious and she was such a good model for us! So chill and happy. It was a lot of fun and we tried out some new poses with her and she did great! I loved the different expressions she gave us. She was truly a blessing to work with! Here's a few of our favorites and an interview with mom. Lots of fun! T.H. Peterson: What did you think when you first saw Maddox?  Mariah: I was in total awe when I first saw Maddox. I couldn’t believe I had created this beautiful, perfect, little baby child. T.H. P.: How did you come up with her name?  Mariah: My grandma, my mom, and myself all have names that start with “M” so I knew if I ever had a daughter that she would need an “M” name too. I have always loved the name Maddox, especially for a girl! I was afraid to suggest it to my husband because I loved it so much and I didn’t want him to void the name 😅 he also loved it! Natalie's session has been one of my favorites of the year! She is so photogenic and so much fun to hang out with, such a sweet young lady. I was super excited to photograph her since I've known her family for a long time. She did not disappoint, she was a blast to do a session with. Here are some of my favorites. Enjoy! T.H. How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting.  Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th

What a sweet baby! Parker was the perfect little model during her session. She let us pose her however we wanted and she was really sleepy. One of my favorite images from her session was when she was dressed like a bear and yawning but it looks like she's roaring! So cute! T.H. Peterson: What did you think when you first saw Parker? Cassie: When I first saw Parker I was so relieved that she was finally here! We had been dreaming of what she would be like for so long that when she finally arrived we were just so thankful and excited to meet her. And I thought that she looked just like her dad! T.H. P.: How did you come up with Parker's name? Cassie: Parker is my grandma’s maiden name.  Parker’s middle name is June because our dating anniversary, wedding anniversary, and Parker’s birthday are all in June.  T.H. I'm super happy and excited to share this session with you! I've had the pleasure of photographing Hanna and Craig's family for a while. They are so sweet and a precious family. Hanna is also a photographer and has recently become one of my newborn assistants, helping with posing and wrapping and she is doing an amazing job. So it was great to be able to photograph her new twins and the awesome thing is she did all the wrapping and posing which I think adds even more specialness to the session. Bowen was really the perfect baby! He is so sweet and he posed anyway we wanted! He is also full of expressions and adorable faces! Cheyenne was such a good baby! She looked adorable in every photo and was such a chill baby! She was so much fun to photograph. We even got a cute smirk from her which is not always easy to catch! Here are a few of our favorites! T.H. Peterson: What did you think when you first saw Cheyenne? Logan: My first thought was holy smokes that's a lot of hair. And I can't believe she's really here. T.H. P.: How did you come up with her name? Logan: We wanted a somewhat unique name and there's a western where the main character's name is Cheyenne Bodie. Since I'm a big western fan we thought it was meant to be. After we came up with the name, we found out my husband's deceased grandpa had always loved that name and almost named one of his daughters that but didn't. T.H. P.: Who does she look like?
