Interview with Taylor Zordel - Silver Lake Class of 2025 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Miss Taylor was such a joy to photograph! We were blessed to capture multiple sessions with her. She is so photogenic and sweet. I love the images that we were able to make for her. No matter where we went or what we photographed, she looked beautiful! One of my favorite spots was behind the Governor's mansion at Kaw River Park, it was the perfect backdrop for her session! She really shined bright! Also, we photographed her with some horses on the most beautiful property and to see her smile as she interacted was just amazing! These are a few of our favorites from her session. Hope you enjoy!

T.H. Peterson: So you stay really busy playing sports.  What do you like to do in the little free time you have. 

Taylor: In my free time, I like to read and spend time with my friends.

T.H. P.: What have been some of your fondest moments playing? 

Taylor: Winning is always fun, but some of my favorite memories are just laughing in the dugout or gym with my friends.

T.H. P.: What has been your most serious injury?

Taylor: I’ve been lucky not to have any serious injuries, but I have broken my wrist falling over first base.

T.H. P.: What are your plans after high school?

Taylor: After high school, I plan to go to college and study construction management and finance.

T.H. P.: What classes are you looking forward to most? 

Taylor: Business classes

T.H. P.: Not sports related, what is your favorite outdoor activity?

Taylor: I love to fish whenever I have the chance.

T.H. P.: Most and least girly thing about you?

Taylor: I love to get my hair done…but I’m never afraid to get dirty.

T.H. P.: What is your first thought every morning? 

Taylor: Can I get coffee?

T.H. P.: What is your superpower? 

Taylor: My mindset is my superpower.

T.H. P.: What makes you feel confident?  Taylor: When my hair is good, I’m good.

Grace and Andrew are getting married! Engagement session at Kansas University - Lawrence, KS Wedding Photographers

Grace and Andrew's engagement session ended up being so beautiful! KU is truly one of the most beautiful locations in our area. I told them any angle we point the camera, the background is just gorgeous. They were so much fun to photograph. Such good subjects! And their pup Bentley (I think!) He is adorable! How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting.  Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th

Kiera's shoot was really awesome. The property we got to photograph on was so photogenic and I think was the perfect backdrop to show off her personality and passions! She is a girl with a tough exterior but deep down, she's a sweet young lady! She has a good sense of humor and I really enjoyed being able to capture these images for her. Our session with Eli was great! It was a beautiful day and we focused on his passion for flying! I think in 20+ years, this was a first for me! So much fun and what an interesting experience! I learned a lot just being there and one thing that's always fun is it is a good opportunity for the senior being photographed to talk about what they do and that helps the session and the experience! Malina is a great model! She came in for senior portraits and her session was just amazing! She was fun to photograph and I loved the look of her images, we took them in the middle of the day at Osage Lake and we were able to get some really rich colors and vibrant backgrounds that really complimented her outfits and mood of her session! Our session with Trenten was outstanding. It was great because we really got to showcase his passion in life which are the sports he plays. We highlighted wrestling, football and baseball.
