Interview with Keira Kebert - Seaman High - Class of 2025 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits


Kiera's shoot was really awesome. The property we got to photograph on was so photogenic and I think was the perfect backdrop to show off her personality and passions! She is a girl with a tough exterior but deep down, she's a sweet young lady! She has a good sense of humor and I really enjoyed being able to capture these images for her. I've photographed her and her family many times and it was nice to to do a session that was all about her this time. She is a very interesting young woman and it is an honor to make these portraits for her.

T.H. Peterson: What classes are you liking most this year? 

Keira: Machining and welding. 

T.H. P.: What classes are you glad to be done with? 

Keira: English and government. 

T.H. P.: What do you want to do after high school? 

Keira: Either be a welder or a machinist. 

T.H. P.: What makes you feel confident? 

Keira: Having a good eyelash day.

T.H. P.: Where would you like to visit? 

Keira: I want to go to Lapland.

T.H. P.: Favorite place to eat? 

Keira: Maggiano's.

T.H. P.: Something liked about your session with us?

Keira: It was at a pretty place.


T.H. P.: How would your friends describe you?

Keira: Redneck princess. 

T.H. P.: Favorite outdoor activity?

Keira: Fishing and hunting.

T.H. P.: Most girliest thing about you?

Keira: The amount of shoes I own.

Photographing Ty was a blast, he had such a laid back personality and was really easy to pose and direct. One of my favorite families! I was blessed to see these guys at one our last studio events this year and we got some beautiful images of their family! I love their sense of humor and relationship with each other, they're a great group! I was blessed to photograph Austen's senior photos almost 10 years ago and then Jonathan and then Sara. Mr Braxton is on the blog! Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

Introducing sweet baby Braxton! This little guy was such a joy to photograph. With his perfect little face and adorable hair, he was a dream baby. It took him a minute to settle in, but once he did, we captured the most beautiful images of him that truly melted my heart. Braxton’s mom, dad, and big sister are absolutely smitten with him, and it’s easy to see why. During the session, we made sure to include many of the ideas mom and dad brought along, making the photos even more special for their family. How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown ...

Last week, I had the chance to photograph Haley, and it was such a fun experience! Haley is super cute and has a great personality that made the session so easy and enjoyable. We started at the Topeka Zoo, where she had a really special moment with the giraffes. Haley is passionate about giraffes, and she even got to feed them, which made for some amazing and unique photos. You could tell how much she loves them, and it was awesome to capture that connection on camera. After the zoo, we headed to the golf course for some more photos. Golf is another big part of Haley's life, and it’s something she’s been doing for a long time. She’s really good at it too! The photos at the course were so cool because they showed a different side of her personality. It was a perfect way to wrap up the session, blending her love for animals and her passion for sports. We gathered at mom and dad’s family farm, where the kids grew up—a stunning countryside backdrop complete with a red barn and grazing horses. I recently had the joy of photographing an adorable baby named Forrest. He was so sweet, and his expressions could melt anyone’s heart. His mom was completely head over heels for him, and it was easy to see why. We set up a variety of different scenes to capture his cuteness, and he looked precious in every single one. From soft, cozy blankets to playful props, Forrest’s personality shined through in every photo. It was such a fun session, and I loved seeing the bond between Forrest and his mom. Laya's newborn session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

Last week, I had the honor of photographing a beautiful baby girl named Laya in our studio. She was the perfect baby, so calm and peaceful throughout the session. Her mom and big brother came along, and you could just feel how much they love her. It was such a sweet moment seeing how they looked at her with so much pride and joy. We tried so many adorable newborn poses and props, and Laya absolutely rocked every single one of them. She gave us the cutest little expressions, making the photos even more special. From cozy wraps to tiny headbands, every setup just seemed to fit her perfectly. Laya was such a chill baby, which made the whole session a dream. T.H. Madison was such a blast to photograph! She’s super fun and full of energy, and her smile made every picture look amazing. We started her session downtown, then went to Ward-Meade Park, and ended near the Governor's Mansion at sunset. The golden hour lighting was so pretty, and it made her photos look magical. A proud Taylor Swift fan, Madison wanted to incorporate her love for the iconic artist into the session.  She made the whole session so fun, and I’m so happy with how the pictures came out.
