Parker's newborn session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

Image
Meet Parker! We photographed him in the studio for his newborn session, and right away I couldn’t help but notice how smiley he was. I even told his mom he might have been the smiliest baby we’ve ever had in front of the camera. Then she pulled out the pictures we took of his big brother when he was a newborn, and it all came back to me—he was just as smiley! It’s pretty incredible to see those sweet similarities between the two boys. Parker was such a calm, chill little guy, which made the whole session flow so smoothly. He gave us so many cute expressions and had such an animated little face. It was such a joy spending time with this sweet family again and capturing these new memories. I’m thrilled with how the photos turned out and can’t wait for them to look back on these images for years to come. T.H. Peterson: What were your first thoughts when you saw Parker? Janine: I think I thought something along the lines of “he’s really here!” I was so glad he arrived safely and...

Interview with Grace Miller - Seaman High Class of 2026 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Image
Grace’s session was such a blast! She is such a beautiful girl with so much personality, and her funny expressions kept me smiling the whole time. I told her she really should be in theater because she knows how to light up the camera with all the different faces she makes. I photographed her last month in the sunflower fields, and I knew then how fun she would be to work with again. This session was no different—it was just perfect. She’s so photogenic, and we ended up with so many amazing images. Out of all her outfits, the dress she wore was my favorite. It had this timeless, vintage vibe that made her look like she stepped right out of the past. Between her bright, beautiful smile and her strong, serious expressions, she gave us such a great mix of looks. We’re so excited to share just a few of our favorites from her session! T.H. Peterson: What are your plans after high school? Grace: I don’t have any set plans for after high school. I would like to go to college, but I don’t ...

Interview with Xada Spade - Osage City High Class of 2026 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Image
We had such a fun time photographing Xada’s senior session. We started in the studio where she was so natural and photogenic, making it easy to capture some great portraits. From there, we headed out to Osage County Fishing Lake, and it was the perfect spot. Even though it’s the end of summer moving into fall, we still got those warm summer vibes in her photos. The skies, the water, and the fields all came together beautifully, and Xada made it even better with her awesome smile and easygoing personality. To finish off the session, we went to Carbondale and shot around the old downtown buildings. It added a nice variety to her gallery and gave us a different look to balance the lake photos. Xada was great to work with—fun, relaxed, and full of good energy. I really like how her photos turned out and think they show her personality perfectly. T.H. Peterson: What is your favorite class this year? Xada: Yearbook T.H. P.:   Plans after high school? Xada:   Get my LPN/...

Kayla and Erik's engagement session - Beautiful evening engagement session - Topeka's Best Wedding and Engagement Photographers

Image
I’ve had the joy of photographing Kayla and her family many times over the years, so getting to capture this engagement session for her and Erik felt extra special. We started in downtown Topeka during golden hour, where the soft light made the city glow and gave their photos such a warm, romantic feel. You could see right away how natural they are together—the laughter, the easy smiles, and the way they looked at each other made every shot feel effortless. As the sun began to set, we headed out to the countryside and ended the evening on top of Wanamaker Hill. The sky lit up with the most beautiful sunset, painting everything in golden light—it was absolutely stunning. Erik and Kayla’s connection shines so brightly, and I loved capturing the love they share in such a meaningful way. I can’t wait to be part of their wedding day and to continue telling their story through photos.  To book your own session, please call Tommy or Holly at 785.793.2492 or 785.213.0812 or email tommy@th...
