Interview with Talan Robertson - Washburn Rural Class of 2027 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Image
Talan is one of those seniors who clearly loves baseball. A lot of athletes who are naturally gifted end up playing several sports, but Talan has really put his focus into baseball. You can tell how much he loves the game when you talk to him. We started his session at Washburn Rural, then headed to the Governor’s Mansion and finished up down along the Kansas River. He brought great energy to the whole session. He was excited about everything we were doing, easy to talk to, and just a really fun guy to photograph. He is also very photogenic and has one of those smiles that makes my job pretty easy. One of the things I really enjoyed was getting his guitar into the session. The photos we were able to create with him playing guitar had a totally different feel to them. They were artistic and dramatic, and I really liked how they turned out. All in all, this was just a great session from start to finish. Talan has a great personality, he was up for anything, and his passion for baseball r...

Interview with Zachary Robinson - Washburn Rural Class of 2026 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Zach’s senior session was absolutely killer! We started downtown and then finished at Kaw River Park just as the sun was setting, and the lighting could not have been more perfect. Zach brought his guitar along, and it was easy to see how passionate he is about playing. He’s completely self-taught and doesn’t even read sheet music — just plays by ear and feeling. That made his session feel so personal and unique, and it really showed off his talent and personality. Zach is such a fast learner and such a nice guy. He made the whole session fun and easy, and his great attitude really shined through in every photo. I know he will go far in life because of how hard he works and how much he cares about what he does. It was a joy to photograph him and capture this exciting moment in his life! T.H. Peterson: What are your plans after high school? Zach: I enjoy music and want to ideally be a session musician T.H. P: How long have you played guitar? Zach: 4 years T.H. P: Favorite song cur...

Miss Bristol, so photogenic. Very beautiful and kind and talented! She is a legitimate musician and I enjoyed going through her songs online. I was very impressed! She has a lot of talent and I'm sure she will go far with her music! This very first photo really made me excited when I took it because I felt it showed off her creative side. Her entire session was fun and different. She was a great model! It was so much fun having her in front of my lens! T.H. Peterson: What classes are you glad to be done with? Bristol: Definitely AP US History T.H. P.: What would your dream job be? Bristol: I would LOVE to eventually be a Pediatric ER Nurse Practitioner T.H. P.: What is something you liked about your session with us? Bristol: I really liked how you were down to try any poses or ideas my family and I had, and how you made my pictures really show my personality and interests T.H. P.: What would people be surprised to learn about you? Bristol: I can recite all the US presidents in or...

Amazing senior session with Nicolas Prater - Lyndon High Class of 2023 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Photography is an art form that captures the beauty and complexity of life. It is a way to freeze a moment in time and preserve it forever. As a photographer, you meet many people, and each one of them has a unique story to tell. Nicolas is one such person who has left a lasting impression on me. I remember the day I met Nicolas; he was a bit shy and introverted at first, but I soon learned that he had a fantastic sense of humor. He was genuinely funny, and his smile was infectious. I had to get a little inappropriate with my jokes to make him laugh, but it was worth it. By the end of the shoot, we were both laughing so hard that we practically had tears in our eyes. Nicolas is a cool kid. He played the guitar, and his love for music was evident. Even though I prefer outdoor shots, his studio portraits were outstanding. They blew my mind. Sadly, Nicolas was in an accident recently that left him with some physical challenges. He told me that his balance was off, and we had to be carefu...
