Interview with Ashley Cox - Shawnee Heights High School Class of 2027 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Image
Ashley’s senior session was such a fun one! I had the opportunity to photograph her for quite a while, and throughout the entire session, she was nothing but sweet, friendly, and full of smiles. Ashley has so many interests, especially band and track and field, so starting her session at her school was the perfect way to capture a little bit of what makes her who she is. It was a warm day, but Ashley never let that slow her down. She kept smiling, laughing, and bringing her great personality to every photo. From there, we headed to Ted Ensley Gardens before finishing up at Gage Park. Each location gave us something completely different, which made for a really balanced and beautiful senior session. Ashley is outgoing, fun, and just a genuinely wonderful person to be around, and I absolutely love the images we were able to capture of her. More than anything, I love that we were able to create some incredible photographs while making memories that Ashley can look back on for years to com...

Interview with Kendall Smith - Perry Lecompton Class of 2026 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Image
Kendall’s senior session was one of those that just felt easy from the start. He’s a genuinely nice guy—laid back, friendly, and great to work with—which always makes for a fun session. We kicked things off downtown in an alley and got some really strong shots right away. Kendall has a great smile, and it showed up naturally in those photos without any effort. From there, we headed to the Capitol and grabbed some awesome images with that classic Topeka backdrop. After that, we found an incredible neighborhood filled with peak fall color, and the timing couldn’t have been better. The trees were glowing, and the fall vibes were on point. We wrapped things up at Gage Park with a more country, rustic feel and even more fall color to work with. Kendall was a solid subject the whole time, and everything just flowed. Before we knew it, the session was over—and it was one of those shoots that reminds us why we love senior sessions so much. T.H. P.: What are your plans after high school? Ken...

Interview with Ollie Schumacher - Topeka High Class of 2026 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Photographing Ollie from Topeka High was such a fun experience. He’s a really unique senior with a relaxed vibe and a great sense of humor. What made his session even more special was getting to include his family. You could tell right away how close he is with them—especially his siblings. He wasn’t too cool to take photos with them, and seeing their bond made the whole session even more meaningful. We started Ollie’s session in front of Topeka High where he wore his letterman jacket to represent drumline, something he’s proud to be part of. After that, we headed downtown and finished up in the colorful NOTO Arts District. Each location brought out a different side of Ollie—from school pride to fun and playful moments with his family. He’s clearly a smart and grounded young man, and I know he’s going to do great things after high school. T.H. Peterson: What are your plans after high school? Ollie: I want to go to K-state for engineering. T.H. P:   Dream job? Ollie:   Lego...

Taylor is beautiful and she did amazing for her senior session!! We did this promotional event where we took a bunch in the studio and  then did some around the studio outdoors. The light was amazing and getting that sunset just glowing in her hair was the perfect look for her shoot. She is such a natural beauty and I’m so happy with the way her session turned out. I love the studio images so much but the outdoor portraits really blow me away. Thanks for checking out her session and hope you enjoy! T.H. Peterson: What are your plans after high school? Taylor:  My plans after high school are to go to college and eventually get my doctorate in psychology to become a criminal psychologist. T.H. P.: How are you making the best of covid? Taylor:  Covid is a tough issue for me at this point, I haven’t had a regular senior year but being online has made it easy to hang out with my friends more and have more freedom within school. T.H. P.: What is your favorite thing about...
