Our recent newborn session with Katy Jo and Zoey was truly a joy from start to finish. These sweet little babies were absolute angels, and even though it was a bit of a challenge at times, we were able to capture some truly beautiful moments. It was also a wonderful opportunity for our new assistants to get hands-on experience, and they did an amazing job helping during the session. Mom was completely smitten with her girls, and you could see the pure love and joy in her eyes as she watched them throughout the session. Having her mom there to lend a hand made the experience even smoother and more special. Beyond just capturing photos, this session was a meaningful experience for our team. We loved being able to create lasting memories for this family and were honored to be a part of such a tender time in their lives. Every coo, little yawn, and tiny stretch was a reminder of how precious these moments are, and it made our work feel even more rewarding. Sessions like this one are what ...
Ethan was such a joy to photograph during his newborn session! He is a beautiful, mellow little guy with big, sweet eyes and the most precious expressions. He made our job so easy with how chill and happy he was throughout the session. His big sister was just as adorable, and we had so much fun capturing the two of them together with some really cute sibling moments. It was truly a family affair, and we were able to get some wonderful pictures of the whole family together. Ethan was an absolute dream to work with, and we are so thankful for the opportunity to capture these memories. We just love how the photos turned out and can’t wait for the family to enjoy them for years to come. T.H.P.: What did you think when you first saw Ethan? Crystal: Our family is complete and my heart filled with love even more than I knew it could. T.H.P.: How did you come up with his name? Crystal: We wanted to keep the alphabet theme going (I'm a teacher), so it was time for an "E...
It was such a great morning photographing Hunter for his senior session at the lake. When we arrived, we were surprised at how empty the park was. It made the whole session feel peaceful and relaxed, and it gave us plenty of space to capture some great photos. The morning started off cloudy and a little dreary, but by the end of the session the sun began to come out, giving us some beautiful light to finish with. The whole setting felt calm, comfortable, and just really enjoyable. One thing that stood out right away about Hunter was how easy he was to talk to. He has a great personality and made the session feel very natural. We had some great conversations while walking around the lake and finding different spots for photos. Hunter is a genuinely nice guy, and it was a pleasure getting to know him a bit during his session. He has a realistic but optimistic outlook on life, and I truly believe he has a very promising future ahead of him. T.H. P.: What are your plans after high school...
Linley was such a beautiful little baby, and she already looks so much like her mama. One of the first things you notice about her is her hair—it’s lighter in color, but so incredibly thick that you can’t miss it. Most of the time with blonde babies, it’s hard to tell just how much hair they have, but not with Linley. She has a full head of it, and it photographed so beautifully. She was calm, sweet, and made the session feel easy from start to finish. We were also able to capture some really special moments with her big sister, who absolutely adored her and loved being part of the session. Grandma was there too, helping out and making sure everything went smoothly, which always makes a difference. It was such a relaxed and enjoyable time, and I’m so thankful I got to create these memories for their family. T.H. P.: What did you think when you first saw Linley? Kristen: I couldn’t believe she was 8 lbs 8 oz! T.H. P.: How did you come up with her name? Kristen: I found i...
Baby Penelope was absolutely adorable and had a full head of beautiful hair that everyone noticed right away. Her mom was completely crazy about her, and it was so sweet to see the love between them during the session. Penelope was such a calm baby most of the time, which made the whole experience feel very relaxed and peaceful. Even when she had a few little fussy moments here and there, she settled right back down and kept everyone smiling. One of my favorite things about Penelope was how expressive she was. She gave us the cutest little smiles, tiny smirks, and even some sweet cooing sounds while we photographed her. Those little moments made the session feel extra special. We were able to capture some truly beautiful expressions, and the whole session was just so much fun. It was one of those newborn sessions that really felt special from beginning to end. T.H. P.: How did you come up with Penelope's name? Angela: She’s not named after anyone in particular. We like more cl...
Kyren was truly one of the most chill babies we’ve ever photographed. From the moment he came in, he was calm, sweet, and just went with the flow. He has so much hair and gave us the cutest little expressions throughout the session. Honestly, he made our job so easy. He let us move him, pose him, and try different setups without a fuss. Sessions like that are such a gift, and we were able to capture some really beautiful images of him. This was also one of the sessions where our new assistants were getting some hands-on practice, and they had the best time working with Kyren. He was like the perfect little model for them to learn with. Everything just flowed, and the whole experience felt relaxed and fun. We left the studio so thankful for a sweet baby like Kyren and a session that reminded us why we love what we do. T.H. P.: What did you think when you first saw Kyren? Kelly: He’s the biggest blessing that’s happened in my life. T.H. P.: How did you com...
Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind. Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day). Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain. If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session. This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session. If it is windy, wear your hair up. Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane! Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session. For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown ...
Catalina was such a sweet little baby and an absolute natural in front of the camera. She made our job so easy with her calm, laid-back personality, and her full head of hair was impossible not to notice! We got some beautiful shots of her by herself and some adorable family photos with her proud mom and dad. It was such a joy to capture these first moments with her family. Catalina’s easygoing nature and sweet expressions made the session fun, and I love that her parents have these memories to treasure forever. T.H. P.: How did you come up with Catalina's name? Monzerrat: We wanted a name that wasn’t super common and could translate easily in both Spanish and English, and Catalina felt like the perfect fit. T.H. P.: What did you think when you first saw her? Monzerrat: I was surprised by how much hair she had and how much smaller she was than the doctors had told us she would be. T.H. P.: Who does she look like? Monzerrat: She definitely looks like h...
