1st Annual Christmas Recital - The Dance Spot

Saturday night The Dance Spot hosted their first annual Christmas Recital. It was quite the experience. For being thier first year, I felt that it extremely successful as well as very entertaining and fun. Many friends and family and folks from the community attended.

Burlingame Dance Team or "Bomb DiggiTee" as Mickey Referred to them, Santa Fe Trail Dance Team and Cowley College Dance Team was there as well!

So many performances, so many dancers. It was awesome! And best of all, it was free for the community to see! I would strongly encourage all to come out and see them perform.

I had so much photographing them and I look forward to photographing them again. These are random shots, in no particular order from that night. I hope you enjoy them! Read the bottom of the post to find out how to see the rest of the shots. Enjoy!

As you can see, there were some awesome performances and I was so happy I was there to capture them all with my camera. Believe it or not, there was over 1500 images taken that night. The proof CD includes all the images from the performances that night with our studio's name across the front of each image. They will include an order form so that you can purchase prints right from the CD if you are interested. They are not copyright released for printing, but they are for posting on your own websites, facebook, myspace, blogs, etc.

Now this was a special session! It's not often we photograph multiples for newborn sessions but these little girls were just perfect and despite them being born several months ago, because they were so premature they photographed just like brand new newborns! How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting.  Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th

What a handsome little guy! I loved photographing Declan and his session was just perfect! I especially loved capturing the details like his spikey hair. Totally adorable! Hanna, who is a long time client, has recently begun helping us with newborns and it's been a huge blessing not only to our business but to her as well as she has had an opportunity to grow as a photographer herself and practice on getting better at wrapping and posing babies. What a sweet baby! We had a wonderful time with Kayson and his mom and dad. They are so proud of him and you can tell they are going to raise him right and give him lots of love his whole life. We had the most absolutely perfect day for the Popkess family's spring session at Ward Meade. Sadly the tulips are all gone however the lush greenery made a perfect backdrop anywhere we posed this adorable family! Cove's Newborn Session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

Cove was the sweetest little girl. She was so mellow and easy to photograph. She was just the cutest baby. Sierra: Her big brothers name is Cash, so I knew I wanted another one syllable name. When I stumbled upon Cove and said the names together, it was an instant yes.
