Dava and Ed’s wedding was nothing short of amazing. I’ve known Dava for a long time, and seeing her and Ed together, surrounded by so much love and support, was truly special. Their ceremony at the Methodist Church in Lebo was packed with family and friends, all there to celebrate this beautiful couple. The reception at the Clint Bowyer building in Emporia provided the perfect setting for a night full of joy, laughter, and unforgettable moments. Every detail of their day was incredible, from the delicious prime rib dinner to the live band that took requests all night, keeping the dance floor packed. There was so much fun, love, and emotion in the air—tears of joy, heartfelt speeches, and endless smiles. It was a day filled with beauty and celebration, a wedding that will be remembered for years to come. Now for the fun part! Check out the slideshow with highlights from their big day!!! Jahara looked stunning with her amazing makeup and radiant smile—she truly didn’t take a single bad photo! We had so much fun with her, laughing and chatting the whole time. Her outfits were just perfect, especially her letterman jacket and the simple black top with jeans that gave her session a laid-back, stylish vibe. Before we knew it, the session was over. Meet Warren, the sweetest little guy with the most relaxed personality. At almost a month old, he was happy, content, and an absolute dream to photograph. We captured some beautiful moments of him, both on his own and with his adoring parents, who couldn’t stop gushing over their precious boy. To make the session even more special, Mom and Dad brought along some adorable penguin props—Warren’s little theme! It was the perfect personal touch, and we loved incorporating it into his photos. This session was full of love, snuggles, and the kind of sweetness that makes newborn photography so special. Welcome to the world, baby Warren! T.H. Peterson: How did you come up with Warren's name? Meghan: My husband Cooper came up with his name. A lot of my family is from Warrenton, Missouri. It’s also where my grandparents had their first date. I also went to college in Warrensburg, Missouri. Ava was absolutely beautiful for her senior portrait session! We had an amazing time capturing her both in the studio and outdoors, and every shot turned out stunning. One of the highlights of her session was getting to include her adorable big dog, Goose. He was such a sweetheart, and the photos of them together were just perfect! When we headed outside, it was freezing ! But Ava came prepared with her cowhide blanket, and let me tell you—it looked incredible. I even told her she looked like she just stepped out of a catalog! Despite the cold, she totally rocked the session with confidence and style. Ava, you were amazing to work with, and I can’t wait for you to see the final images! T.H. I recently photographed a branding session with Andy McKee , an incredibly talented guitar player. I hate to just call him just a guitar player, he was very versatile with his playing... an amazing talent. We chose Iliff Commons for the location, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The lighting, the weather—everything came together beautifully. It created a warm and natural backdrop that matched the mood we wanted for his photos. Before the session, I wasn’t too familiar with Andy’s work, but after meeting him, I quickly realized just how talented and respected he is in his field. It was truly an honor to photograph him, and I really enjoyed our time together. Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind. Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day). Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain. If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session. This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session. If it is windy, wear your hair up. Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane! Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session. For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown ...
Meet sweet baby Amelia! She was an absolute dream during her newborn session—so smiley and full of sweetness. She slept soundly, letting us gently pose her, and was the perfect little model. Her parents were completely smitten, beaming with love and joy the entire time. It was such a pleasure capturing this special moment for their growing family! T.H. Peterson: What did you think when you first saw Amelia? Ashley: We were instantly in love! She is our rainbow baby and is just a doll. This pregnancy was rather challenging but the moment she was in my arms felt like heaven. A moment I’ll cherish forever. T.H. P.: How did you come up with her name? Ashley: Her name is actually very special to us! Her first name is after my husband’s grandmother and her middle name, Sue, is after both my mother and my husband’s mother. Her nickname is “Emmy Sue”. My husband grew up in the south and we just love her name! T.H. P.: What do siblings think? Ashley: They love her! Our oldest daughte...
Zendaya was an absolute dream to photograph! She was calm, sweet, and full of the most precious expressions. From tiny smiles to curious looks, she gave us so many beautiful moments to capture. Her family adores her, and it’s easy to see why—she is already surrounded by so much love. It was a joy to document this special time for them, and we know she is going to grow up with a heart full of love and warmth. T.H. Peterson: What did you think when you first saw Zendaya? Whitney: I thought she looked exactly like her brother when he was born. T.H. P.: How did you come up with her name? Whitney: We actually had planned on naming her Delilah through the whole pregnancy. When we were walking into the hospital we decided my husband would pick her name as a surprise since I chose our son’s name. I didn’t know what her name was until she was born. The name Zendaya wasn’t even on our list of possible names, but I think my husband did well. I'm happy with it. T.H. P.: What does Benji think?...
