Dillon Collins - 2012 Silverlake High School Senior, Topeka, Auburn, Rossville, Shawnee County, Kansas Senior Portrait Photographers


Last week we photographed Dillon from Silverlake. He's a senior next year and mom said he was a little reluctant to have his photos taken, but it didn't take him long before we were having a ball. Dillon is a cool dude and I loved photographing him outside.




We found this old abandoned house just outside Silverlake and we had to use it! What a cool spot!



Silverlake is a nice little town and while it's not big, it's got lots of personality and good locations to photograph.



Dillon plays golf and I was pumped about the opportunity to take some creative shots of him on the golf course.



Loved photographing Dillon and as usual I felt I made new friends that day! Thanks Misty for all your help.

Some senior sessions just feel like they fit the person perfectly, and that was definitely the case with this one. We headed out to his family’s property and used the farm as the backdrop for his photos. Between the old barns, weathered buildings, vintage tractor, his truck, and of course his horse, there was no shortage of great locations. We even got a few photos with his uncle and their horses, which added a really meaningful touch to the session. The weather was beautiful, and everything came together to create that classic country feel. As a cowboy, he looked completely at home in every photo. While we were able to get a few great smiles, his serious expression fit the rustic setting just as well and gave the images a lot of character. Lillian and Brendon's beautiful wedding day - Gorgeous Rustic Kansas Wedding

Brendon and Lillian's wedding day was one we won't soon forget. Tucked away on a beautiful family property deep in the woods, their ceremony felt like something out of a storybook. Earlier in the week, everyone was keeping a close eye on the weather and preparing for the possibility of rain, but the skies cooperated perfectly. We were even treated to some sunshine throughout the day, making the already gorgeous setting feel even more magical. From the moment the day began, there was a mix of excitement, nerves, laughter, happy tears, and all the emotions that make wedding days so special. Their sweet little boy was also a huge part of the day and completely stole the show more than once. He was all smiles from start to finish, happy, playful, and about as photogenic as a kid can be. Wyatt Robert's Newborn Session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

Sweet little Wyatt was in the studio for his newborn session, and what a joy he was to photograph. Mom told me he weighed over nine pounds at birth, and he was definitely a chunk! He had the cutest blonde hair and even gave us several little smiles and smirks during the session. He was such a sweet baby, and we were able to create some really precious images that I know his family will treasure for years to come. One thing that made this session especially meaningful for me was seeing Wyatt's dad as a father. More than 10 years ago, I photographed his senior pictures, and now here he is holding his newborn son. Life has a way of moving fast. Wyatt is also the very first grandbaby on both sides of the family, so you know he's going to be absolutely spoiled with love. Interview with Janae Bainbridge - Class of 2027 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Janae is such a great example of why I love senior sessions so much. Since she’s homeschooled, we had the flexibility to do an extra long session and really bring a lot of creative ideas to life. Honestly, I was completely blown away the entire time. She is not only beautiful and incredibly photogenic, but she also brought so many great ideas of her own to the session. Janae is both a ballerina and a basketball player, and we were able to build a session that showed both sides of who she is. We finished the evening out on the Kansas River with the most beautiful sunset behind her, and it was the perfect ending to an already amazing session. One of the biggest highlights for me was photographing her ballet photos at the Topeka Performing Arts Center. We had such a great time photographing Mia for her senior portraits! She is a talented senior from Shawnee Heights and one of those people who is just naturally photogenic. She brought so much personality to her session with lots of beautiful smiles, great expressions, and some really amazing outfits. Her dogs joined us for part of the session, which made things even more fun. We started at Shawnee Lake and later headed downtown, finishing up around the Cyrus Hotel and the Capitol. Even though the weather wasn't ideal and we had to deal with some rain, Mia absolutely shined in every location. One of my favorite things about this session was seeing how confident and comfortable Mia was in front of the camera. We were able to create colorful, vibrant images that really showcase both her beauty and her fun personality. We had a great time photographing Juan from Highland Park High School for his senior portraits. We started at the Capitol and got some really nice photos around the grounds before heading over to the Governor's Mansion. What made this session a little different is that we photographed everything right in the middle of the day. Normally, we like to include some country locations closer to sunset, but the light worked out beautifully and we were able to create some amazing images throughout the entire session. Juan was a lot of fun to photograph. He has a great personality, is very easy to talk to, and is naturally photogenic. The session seemed to fly by as we spent a lot of time talking about his plans after high school and some of the things he enjoys doing. Meghan was so much fun to photograph during her senior session. We started out at Truckhenge and finished up at Iliff Commons, and she made the whole experience really easy and enjoyable. She has a great personality, an awesome smile, and she’s just very natural in front of the camera. We also got to include her little pup, which always adds a fun and personal touch to the session. Even though we were shooting in the middle of the day, we were still able to find some really beautiful light throughout both locations. Kinslee's Newborn Session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

We recently had the pleasure of photographing sweet little Kinslee, and what a fun session it was! Mom and Dad were so excited to capture this special time in their lives, and their joy was easy to see throughout the entire session. Kinslee was absolutely adorable and seemed to love being in front of the camera. She even gave us a few precious little smiles and smirks that made everyone in the room melt. One of our favorite parts of the session was watching Mom and Dad with their baby girl. Every little thing Kinslee did brought big smiles to their faces, and it was clear how much they adore her. Hannah was so much fun to photograph for her senior session at Ward Meade Park . One of the coolest parts of the day was when she showed me a photo we had taken of her when she was little. Even though it had been years, I actually remembered photographing her, which made for a fun trip down memory lane. Hannah has a bright personality and an amazing smile, and she was incredibly photogenic from the moment we started. Her mom came along for the session too, and it was great getting to spend some time with both of them. It was a warm day, but Hannah handled it like a pro. As a dancer, she knows how to bring energy and confidence in front of the camera, and it definitely showed in her photos. She wore two great outfits during the session. I loved the white dress she started with, and some of my favorite images came from that look. Her second outfit was bright orange, which happens to be my favorite color. Interview with Jude Haverkamp - Shawnee Heights High School Class of 2027 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Jude’s senior session was such a fun one, and it was great getting to photograph him again. I’ve also photographed his family before, and one thing that has always stood out to me is how friendly and easygoing he is. He’s just a genuinely nice kid and was completely on board with all of the ideas we came up with during the session. We started at Shawnee Heights High School on the stage with his cello. His mom suggested the location, and I’m so glad she did because we were able to create some really dramatic images using mostly the stage lights. After that, we headed to the Kansas State Capitol, where the skies put on an amazing show for us. The beautiful clouds and evening light made for some of my favorite images from the session. From there, we made our way downtown and stopped at Evergy Plaza. By then it was getting dark, and the fountains were lit up with changing colors.
