Our recent newborn session with Katy Jo and Zoey was truly a joy from start to finish. These sweet little babies were absolute angels, and even though it was a bit of a challenge at times, we were able to capture some truly beautiful moments. It was also a wonderful opportunity for our new assistants to get hands-on experience, and they did an amazing job helping during the session. Mom was completely smitten with her girls, and you could see the pure love and joy in her eyes as she watched them throughout the session. Having her mom there to lend a hand made the experience even smoother and more special. Beyond just capturing photos, this session was a meaningful experience for our team. We loved being able to create lasting memories for this family and were honored to be a part of such a tender time in their lives. Radley's newborn session - Interview with mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

Sweet baby Radley was just three days old for his newborn session, and he was the calmest, chill little guy you could imagine. Such a tiny little thing, with the softest features and the sweetest expressions, he gave us a session full of quiet moments, tiny smirks, and little smiles that made everyone melt. He was so relaxed the entire time, which made it easy to capture those peaceful, cozy newborn images that parents love looking back on. Mom and Dad are already completely in love with him, and you can feel it in every photo. We also created some beautiful family portraits that feel warm, cuddly, and full of connection — the kind of images that truly show a family in this special new season of life. Interview with Hunter Kirkwood - Washburn Rural Class of 2026 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

It was such a great morning photographing Hunter for his senior session at the lake. When we arrived, we were surprised at how empty the park was. It made the whole session feel peaceful and relaxed, and it gave us plenty of space to capture some great photos. The morning started off cloudy and a little dreary, but by the end of the session the sun began to come out, giving us some beautiful light to finish with. The whole setting felt calm, comfortable, and just really enjoyable. One thing that stood out right away about Hunter was how easy he was to talk to. He has a great personality and made the session feel very natural. We had some great conversations while walking around the lake and finding different spots for photos. Hunter is a genuinely nice guy, and it was a pleasure getting to know him a bit during his session. Hayes's newborn photos - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

Hayes was such a beautiful baby boy! He had lots of hair and was so peaceful and chill, which made our job so much fun. Even though he slept most of the time, every once in a while he would peek his eyes open and give us the funniest little looks. You could tell right away that he had a lot of personality. Mom and Dad are completely smitten with him—they just can’t get over how cute he is! I’m so excited about how these photos turned out. This session was actually a practice for one of our newer assistants learning baby wrapping, and Hayes was the perfect little model to help her learn. Emmy Sue was an absolute dream to photograph. She is beautiful, with perfect skin, and gave us the sweetest little smiles and smirks throughout her session. From the moment she arrived, her calm presence and tiny expressions completely stole our hearts. She was a little fussy at first — just like most babies — but once she was swaddled, she settled right in and posed so wonderfully. How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown ...

Baby Benjamin’s newborn session was such a sweet and special experience. He is a tiny, beautiful little guy, and from the moment we started, you could feel how excited Mom and Dad were to be there. We took our time and worked carefully to create soft, beautiful images of him, and he gave us the most adorable little expressions. Every photo felt gentle, calm, and full of love, making the entire session a joy to photograph. Some of my favorite images from Benjamin’s session are the family portraits. There is something so special about seeing him in his parents’ arms, looking so safe and precious. The connection between them is so natural and strong, and it shows in every image. Kyren was truly one of the most chill babies we’ve ever photographed. From the moment he came in, he was calm, sweet, and just went with the flow. He has so much hair and gave us the cutest little expressions throughout the session. Honestly, he made our job so easy. He let us move him, pose him, and try different setups without a fuss. Sessions like that are such a gift, and we were able to capture some really beautiful images of him. Ethan was such a joy to photograph during his newborn session! He is a beautiful, mellow little guy with big, sweet eyes and the most precious expressions. Interview with Laci Cole - Seaman High Class of 2026 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Laci was such a joy to photograph. From the moment she walked into the studio, she was friendly, relaxed, and incredibly easy to work with. She has a great smile and is very photogenic, which always makes a session flow effortlessly. Nothing ever felt awkward, even in between shots, and that made the whole experience feel natural and fun. Her outfits were perfect too—they fit the mood of the photos so well and really pulled everything together. It was also one of those cold, snowy days, so we started inside the studio where it was warm, but we couldn’t resist stepping outside for a few shots. Even with the freezing temps, we were able to capture some really cool images with the snow, and they turned out amazing. It was so nice meeting Laci and her mom—they were both wonderful.
